  1. BD’s mellos are SCV-esque this year, love to see it haha
  2. 2019 is very good, 2016 I enjoy very much so, 2015, and 2013 are obviously amazing too, but I feel this one is going to enter my top 5 undoubtedly and be my favorite of the bunch after I hear it in person!
  3. I mean, even if you’re not a fan of the unís up close, I did NOT expect the color to pop with those sashes from the stands!! Very nice!!
  4. Bluecoats don’t ever fail to give me a show I can root for(except maybe 2017, never really got into that one) but I always enjoy what they put out!!
  5. I still think it’s a goof and a bad joke, but nothing more, we all know Cavies are gonna be top six so it’s all well and good! They’ll be secondth🙃
  6. 2019 was questionable(and bad) but it takes a lot to rehash a previous look and it seem completely like a knock off brand uniform of that year.
  7. Whenever someone does something that goes against that same opener formula, it just immediately stays in the mind so much more, haven’t seen every corps yet, not nearly, but I’m sure some are gonna mix it up🙏🙏
  8. Ok, good, so yeah, Crown will be getting the Ott again this year, even if it’s dirty to begin the season, they also definitely have the demand few corps can touch on a good year. I haven’t heard a lick from crown this year, but it still simply seems they won’t be touched this year in that department.
  9. Benedictus is godlike, very happy to hear it’s getting the very gentle but awe-inspiring touch that crown can provide in their ballads, it’s a very ideal piece for them and I’ve wanted to hear it be played by a top tier group in DCI for a while👀 I feel like Crown’s show is definitely gonna be the one of few shows this year that clings to me, and I’m looking forward to hearing it soon!! I don’t think ruling out crown from title contention is wise here…
  10. I am optimistic for crusaders, but I really don’t see them winning brass this year, the favorite is still crown in that regard and I think their consistently excellent performance will reflect that. Percussion I can see more than brass even though BD and SCV are fearsome contenders for that crown, it’ll definitely be a strength for Boston!
  11. Understandable, for me hearing their show in 2018 for the first time, I had already listened to their selection playlist quite a bit and I digged it. I adore fearsome, intense hornlines and I knew when I heard them they were gonna be monsters and they were, they won the Ott that year!! I was hooked from the start in 2018 personally. Edit: And yes I think you’re looking for periscope there. I think I definitely heard shows for the first time on that app as well that year haha
  12. I enjoy vanguard a lot, gonna have to revisit when I see them visit their second home in Denton in about a month, but I’m not feeling their show, I’ve not been feeling many corps shows to be fair, it’s also early, but I’ve yet to find a show I can cling onto this year and really really dig, at least from what I’ve listened to so far. At least when I see them mid season at what will definitely be a great show all around in Denton with so many heavy hitters going, I’ll definitely be in a great mood 🙂
  13. BD meets cavies is my takeaway from the new Unis! Not a bad look at all👍👍👍
  14. You can usually tell with audio more often than not😂 I think Boston still has that Cadets sound in them even this year but they’re definitely going a different route with a more toned down musical approach
  15. It happens so often in sports where expectations are placed so high on rising stars, comparisons to the greats that anything less is disappointment when there’s necessary growth, struggle and perseverance that needs to happen for someone to really excel at something. Good things take time Niners fans should be absolutely grateful for the grit that team showed in the playoffs this season, can’t be great if you alienate those that are trying to take you there. I’m a cowboys fan btw😔 ride or die homer myself but ummm…not sure how you feel about McCarthy as our coach but I don’t think my “good things take time” philosophy extends to him😂😂
  16. I’ll definitely be thrilled about seeing a 8, 6, 7, 7 in the music scoresheets versus a potential 10, 10, 11, 9 in the visual/GE ones all season long as a spectator ‘cause i enjoy the former much more when I’m there in person anyways😂
  17. Short answer, west coast far longer answer: probably ‘cause the Rose Bowl event is typically too Cali-centric. The marketing of the premier being in theaters and all. It has a more inclusive mix of different regions performing, Midwest, Texas, Northeast(crown and cadets typically make appearances too) While we have some of the most decorated corps in BD and SCV missing from the event, there’s still plenty to be had and that’s why the event is marketed as such Edit: it’s usually a non-issue ‘cause the tour premier in the east is usually the first event to take place anyways
  18. I don’t think this is a really unpopular hot take. Many people still feel that way
  19. Predicting phantom not in last, I’ll place them 4th, probably one of my favorite musical packages that I’ve seen presented of this season so far and they’re on track to play the heck out of it. I can’t place the top 3 since I have no idea what bloo and cavies are doing in relation to Boston, but they’ll be top 3, Bloo most likely coming out on top. Blue Stars 5th and Crossmen last. Boom
  20. Compared to 2019, the hornline definitely sounds several notches improved, danggggg!!! It’ll be great to see these shows at their apex in August based on what we’re hearing now in June, it’s gonna be pretty great👀👀
  21. In the hypothetical scenario that has nearly no precedent that we could judge off of, if a show from a non-top 6 corps or even emerging top 6 corps was showing up and showing out to the level of championship quality, it’d be kinda idiotic for a show that will have been viewed by at least a few critical eyes more than once throughout the season, and in 3 runs at Indy to not be given its credit. Again it’s never really been the case ‘cause corps do take these incremental leaps that do indeed have historical precedent, but the adjudicator should be seeking to only look at what’s in front of them compared to everything else they see on the day of performance. It’s not something I believe can happen in one season, a 6th-8th place corps in their few previous seasons leapfrogging all the way to second and even possibly contending for a title, but if it does, give it its credit!!
  22. Both of those shows were so clean and polished by their final performances in San Antonio, a little bit more repping and improvement even from there would’ve been amazing to see!
  23. Indeed it is, one notable one that unfortunately didn’t compete at grand Nats either 🖋🔊🖋
  24. What a year 2021 was for those Texas HS bands👀👀
