It's sort of a mystery to me why Southern California hasn't fielded a corps in Finals since (I won't say their name) the 90's. I think it's because there's just so much to do here year-around and kids have lots of options. And now that high school bands have stepped up their game since the 1970s it will be even harder. But I shall WILL Pacific Crest into Finals this year. So help me.

I've seen this before. The Mandarins in 2023 remind me of where the Blue Devils were in 1974. They're clearly a corps headed towards the top echelon of the activity.

Are you the grandfather from Derry Girls? I know they like to march in Northern Ireland, but I didn't know they knew about Drum Corps.

I've heard this about housing before. Sucks because Finals are now almost a week earlier than they used to be, and there are now only a fraction of the corps. Wish the young person this happened to healing. I hate these stories.

It's obviously more comfortable, but hotel rooms may not be the best idea when trying to manage over 150 young people. It won't eliminate the possibility but it has to cut down on the chances of occurrence. We all survived sleeping on gym floors in sleeping bags - even during Finals.
