  1. Why were the Blue Devils NOT penalized for playing in the "no play zone" during Carolina Crown's and The Cavaliers performances? That Blue Devils warm-up crap was very audible in the audience.
  2. Solution: Get screen capture software, record off of your favorite "service", burn to DVD/blu-ray.
  3. BD...yet ANOTHER boring show that does nothing for me. Their last good show was back in '77 IMO
  4. My predictions: Blue Devils will get the stomach flu that's been going around and pull out of Finals Week, perhaps doing a standstill performance. So, 1st is up for grabs...
  5. "BLUECOATS UPDATE: Tonight (7/28) the corps will perform a standstill concert of The Garden of Love. Several members of the corps are recovering from a 24-hour stomach virus and we are unable to perform the full program. " Well, obviously, the Bluecoats don't practice proper hygiene either...and their leadership should resign. 😉
  6. We’ve already seen the good shows of the day… the rest are the boring, overrated ones
  7. Cavies took 1st in percussion last night...best drum line in DCI as of today, so, top 5 for The Cavaliers is possible.
  8. 2023July22 Predictions: 1. Boston Crusaders 2. Blue Devils 3. Carolina Crown 4. Bluecoats 5. Cavaliers 6. Mandarins 7. Cadets 8. Phantom Regiment 9. Colts 10. Blue Stars 11. Troopers 12. Pacific Crest
  9. Just like DCI says "no one buys physical media" and not worth the cost to offer blu-ray/dvd, it's also not worth the hassle of waiting hours to get into the facility and high ticket prices to see these events nowadays. I'll watch it on YouTube...
  10. I'd purchase the 2022 DCI Finals from DCI, as I always do (have a complete set from 1974 to 2019 AND the 1972, 1973, 1974-1976 sets from Drum Corps World) However, it looks like the ONLY options for DCI 2022 video on physical media are: Go to torrent sites, download the video/audio and burn the disc yourself Record the video/audio from a source (Flo or YouTube) with a software such as OBS, then burn the disc yourself. There are a few other methods. People WANT permanent physical media, and there are ways around REDICULOUS obstacles.
  11. No corps in Highland Park… The Cavaliers, Blue Stars, and Music City had just recently wrapped up at the nearby Niles Illinois parade. The other two parades The Cavaliers were scheduled for (Glenview, and Morton Grove) have been cancelled.
  12. It’s hard to believe much of the dreck corps play nowadays is even copyrighted by so called “composers”. id rather see the activity expand and explore with original music and youth activity friendly composers.
  13. I would not be surprised if unavailable drum corps recordings/videos get new releases via “European” grey market distributors. If there is a demand, there will be a supplier...
  14. I believe original music compositions is the future of drum corps. It is becoming increasingly common to hear corps performing original music, composed specifically for the corps. I believe corps will be rewarded for original music within the scoring system. It’s a great opportunity for growth and advancement of the activity. What do you think about this?

  17. So, what will be missing/edited out of this year’s DCI Blu-ray Discs? That situation is starting to get me angry...
