  1. Wait a minute, are we agreeing? This doesn't feel right...lol. There were two points to be made in that post. 1. He was right. 2. Mandarins. Except he wasn't right the entire time, which he failed to point out so me and Vuitton pointed it out for him. If it wasn't your point, you wouldn't have made it a point to continue to try to prove you were right. Ah ah ah, I said I was out. I didn't say I was leaving. He who is without sin, cast the first stone, otherwise make sure you get your words right and have a seat. Hookem also said he was done with DCP at one point this season as well, but I don't see you calling him out. Oh wait, he didn't point out your friends flaw. And actually, Craiga used the word hypocritical first, which derives from the base word, hypocrite. Hypocrisy is the practice of being a hypocrite. Accuracy matters.
  2. You also predicted that BAC would win this year. All good luck eventually runs out. Just because you were right before doesn't mean you'll be right again. BAC may eventually win, and when that day comes, I'm sure you'll be the first to say "I told you so", but how many times will you be wrong before you end up right? That to me is hypocrisy and ad nauseum in itself. Let the corps speak for themself.
  3. I have no idea. I'm just against it. With less corps we don't need more finalists.
  4. I've still yet to see them issue 1. Any word saying that they are returning for a tour, saying "we're back" doesn't mean diddly in my opinion; 2. Any issued apology to the auditionees from the Fall of 2022 for accepting their monies for auditions and going inactive for 2023 in the same week. In all honesty, there's a lot of trust issues and they need to work on those with potential members, and rightfully so.
  5. It was controversial at first but look at how well received Phantom were this season. Definitely a step in the right direction. I can't see limiting the creativity by wanting to stick to a certain style, or genre.
  6. They rehired Right Hook Snyder. I don't think they care honestly. Could be wrong.
  7. I forgot, you are the only one that is allowed to be right in the Crown thread. My bad. I'll try to remember next time.
  8. Continue to try and twist it anyway you want. Eventually you'll run out of juice.
  9. I understand what you're trying to do, but you do realize that Mike and Kevin weren't at Blue Knights in 2022, right? They left in 2019. See the difference? Sometimes being a smart*** just makes you look...well, you know.
  10. I also think it's limiting themselves to becoming a one trick pony by sticking to classical or opera or dark. Look at Phantom. I also fin it kind of funny that this current design team is going to stay far away from the previous shows, when 2023 was riddled with easter eggs from those shows. Lol.
  11. I too loved Camelot. Do I want dark and dreary, murder and mayhem every year? No. I think the activity could use some camp, fun, and whimsy. The activity simply takes itself too seriously nowadays. Funnily enough, the activity has been deemed Broadway on Grass for years now, but yet there's no Broadway shows anymore...untapped potential there that could be camped up. Closest we've gotten to Broadway during the Broadway on Grass era is Crown 2017 with For Good. Lol. Also, I too first fell in love with Crown in 2007. I started to notice them after the staff upgrades in 2003, but 2007 is when I really started to follow them, and 2008 just solidified it. I just don't see the upside of sophistication over fun shows. I don't see the point in everything having to have a deeper, philosophical meaning with sophistication and grace. Let's have fun in drum corps again!
  12. Like I said, the Potter/May/Townsend shows since they've been at Boston hasn't had the same camp as they did at Crown. The one trick pony comment was about continuing down the dark route that everyone is wanting them to do. Or the opera route. Or the "new Phantom" going down the classical route. One trick pony routes/shows. The shows I mentioned were accessible to the everyday person, not just the DCI community, which is why I mentioned them as accessible. If one were to introduce someone new to the activity, those are the shows that you could easily show them to help them understand the activity and enjoy the video that you're showing them because there is something they will recognize in it. Horse racing. Classical music that they'll associate with their childhood watching Looney Tunes. Music they grew up listening to either from their time growing up in the 70s/80s or their parents. If DCI wants to continue to expand their audience/fandom then the corps need to stop limiting themselves to a niche audience like they have been for almost a decade now, which is why we need a Velvet Knight. Go back and compare the audience reaction videos from 2023 and 2019. Just because it's accessible doesn't mean that it's the crowd favorite. The 2019 reaction was much bigger, and half the community despised that show because it didn't make any sense. And exactly, it's you're opinion. Nobody is saying you're wrong. I'm allowed to have my opinion as well, right? My opinion is continuing down the dark show path (even if they end lightly) is becoming a one trick pony. We can't complain about other corps doing it and then be okay with our corps doing it.
  13. Then maybe I need to follow them up north then, but at the same time, those shows don't have the camp that I grew to love from Crown. If I want dark and dreary all the time I'll just watch the news. Not everything in this activity has to be sophisticated, and I think we have a very different definition of what accessibility means. 2007 was accessible. 2008 was accessible. 2011 was accessible. 2023 was accessible for a small niche of fans. I liked the show, but I don't want to become THAT corps; a one trick pony if you will. Starting to second guess why I follow the activity year after year.
