  1. I don't knwo if you could handle it. It's almost too good for words.
  2. Regiment now has the most emotional ending to any show, by any corps, this decade. Period.
  3. THAT NEW ENDING IS OFF THE HOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????????? SUTA TO THE BANK, REGIMENT!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU KIDS IN THE CORPS ARE READING THIS POST, I DON"T CARE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT WEEK. YOU ARE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. Please keep working on that intro, sops. Consistency is the key to Mr. Ott's trophy and no cringing at APDs and CDs.
  4. I posted this elsewhere, but I think you may see three winners this week: BD at quarters, Cavies at semis and PR at finals. GE and Music will pull it out for Rockford!
  5. Dave St. Angel grabbing feathers off of a helmet plume and blowing them in the wind and saying... "THat's what I think of the judges comments tonight"
  6. Blue Stars, GMEN and Madison. WHat's happening with SCV, Boston and Bloo? THere's something going on there that I don't see or hear.
  7. I think you're going to see a first next week: 3 winners in 3 nights. BD at quarters, Cavies at semis and PR at finals. GE wins. Regiment going to have a GE fest in Bloomington.
  8. Seriously? That show ROCKED for me. Still one of the hardest shows I've ever heard/seen.
  9. Okay then, how about these: 1978 SCV. Weak brass to be sure. "If You Believe in Yourself?"-- ugh! 1989 SCV. If PR doesn't win in '08, then this show shouldn't have won in '89, because it was all about emotion, passion and GE.
  10. No way! That takes guts! Finishing the show with no helmets! They haven't done that since '91 (well some of them lost helmets, some of them lost baldrics, jackets, etc.) It fits the theme! Dan Farrell looked me in the eye and told me they weren't changing the ending. I guess he meant musically. We don't call him MR. Vader for nothing!!!
  11. I'm not a big pit fan, but Regiment's pit is the most musical in DCI. Especially since Rennick took over.
  12. This is a show of destiny. BLACK GLOVES FOR THE HORNLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Phantom beat Cadets by .6 two days before Quarters in 1992. So Cadets were theoretically in 6th.
  14. SUTA to the kids for taking their heritage seriouly and being very intense in rehearsal. I very much enjoyed the energy and discipline they displayed in Nashville.
  15. If Cavies can clean their mello line, they can win. If Regiment can max out their guard, they can win. BD is going to plateau at a very high place. They will be difficult to pass, regardless. That's what I saw and heard Friday.
  16. The kune, as a whole, is great. I will say this: their mello line does not seem to have the maturity they have possessed for the past 8 or 9 years. There were several really BAD moments from them Friday night at Murf. I'd be willing to bet that's where the problem is. There is also not a whole lot of meat in the book, compared to PR, Crown, Cadets.
  17. After seeing the top 8 in Murf, I say Regiment can win. BD is not invincible! Don't count CAVIES out either. BD's guard is the difference-maker right now.
  18. Here's a one line review... ok, maybe two. BD is overrated slightly, Cavies are underrated slightly and Phantom is the biggest, baddest dark horse since well... PR 96. Crown will finish 4th, cadets had better kkep working or they won't be 5th. HUGE CORWD, GREAT SHOWS!
  19. I just got back to Murf, talked with Dan Farrell this afternoon. THERE WILL BE NO BIG NEW ENDING! Guess what... after seeing them practice and seeing them live tonight... THEY DON'T NEED ONE! This show can win! But that really doesn't matter. What matters is this: an epic has been created here. Biggest audince reaction of the night (HUGE crowd btw) Crown got a close second, but this crowd was as passionate about Regiment as Regiment was about their performance. SUTA to Rick Valenzuela, Dan farrell and your wonderful staff! Thank you! (dan said he doesn't read these boards... ha!
  20. Regiment pases Crown, SCV passes Bloo. I'll be there, rain or shine.
  21. I wore my sunglasses at the Cotton Bowl for a reason!
  22. One of the best shos on the tour. Period. No track, no grass, no dead spots, just good, loud and close to your ears!
