  1. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? I wonder what one of the parades the Kilties will be performing in on the 4th? http://www.racine4thfest.org/
  2. This is very true; it is also dependent as to whether the corps' (as a whole) are being evaluated using the DCA criteria (itself) to reach numbers. The judges at DCI shows are there to adjudicate DCI corps as the priority; after-all these are DCI sanctioned shows. In many cases at DCI sanctioned shows the judges comments, insights, etc. are the value. Six of one/half dozen of another.
  3. I would suggest Larry P (Hi Larry!!) wasn't talking about panel size, more-so sheets (in relation to criteria, etc.) if you read his statement clearly. In short, it's like looking at a line of cars in a parking lot---yes they are all parked neat and tidy, but they all came to that spot potentially using a different route (i.e. criteria)
  4. No, sometimes they forget to assign a number to that caption; coupled with a non-familiarity of DCA sheets and the criteria. This is nothing new
  5. Judges apparently forgot to score the communication captions.
  6. That could be deemed an insult to lard (aka: the forgotten food group)
  7. It was a fun parade and very appreciative spectators! . Any performance, any corps gets to perform in---the opportunity should be taken to promote the activity, and your organization itself. In all likelihood, more people will see a corps perform in a well attended parade than all the shows combined in any one given season.
  8. I would suggest Empire............. "retired on their own terms" may be a more appropriate statement..
  9. "...............going down.........." I would suggest "moving to" may be more appropriate of terminology. Especially considering there presently are, have been, and (in all probability) will be a corps and/or corps' that declared Class A that will be among the top ten scoring at the championships and (hence) be full voting members.
  10. Nowadays, that would get one arrested in 49 of the 50 states.
  11. Joey Heatherton and I lived together for awhile!!! Until she found me living in her basement and called the cops!!!

  13. Yes, today, I would ascertain until midnight, is the deadline day to declare and/or re-declare. It goes both ways.
  14. Required to reserve and pay for a certain amount of rooms; whether a corps stays in them or not.
  15. Hmm? With that being said---cue music; we must be in that foggy void of life called the (to paraphrase) "all depends what "is" is." zone. http://www.mwctoys.com/images/review_serling_3e.jpg
  16. As mentioned and now presently confirmed, in essence, open class in comparison to world class scores are an "apples to oranges" comparison; since the format of competitive time requirement are not equal----blurring (at best) the fundamental formula of equality. Kinda like one football team being allowed to play on an 80 yard football field and their opponents on a standard 100 yard field.
  17. That doesn't answer the question posed, inasmuch are not open class corps' actual length of adjudicated performances shorter (or qualify if so desired by being an open class corps) in duration than a world class adjudicated performance time duration? If they are indeed shorter in length (8 or so minutes vrs 10 or so minutes)....it's an "apples to oranges" comparison. In short, giving a runner in the 80 meter dash the same time equivalent to the person competing in a 100 meter dash....different breeds of cat.
  18. Are not the open class corps' performances shorter in length? Or being an open class corps qualifies them (if they so desire) to perform a shorter in length show vrs a world class corps' length of performance? If that's the case, isn't this more-so a mixing "apples to oranges" list?
