The first one appears to be a YMP-201. They fixed a lot of the problems with the later versions, especially the 204.

Granted I was paying attention almost solely to hornline performance musically and visually, I didn't find Madison any more dirty than the Crossmen. The two groups have different brass sounds. I don't think that Xmen are as clean visually, not by a fair margin.

haha A friend of mine who marched in a top four corps had a photo album on Facebook with a field shot of his drumline -- Jeff Prosperie was tagged in the picture as "Worst drum judge ever". I'm not qualified to speak on percussion scores, but that huge amount of variance (over a full point) is a bit weird to me.

Actually, they came from another member of the cymbal line, Asian Dave. He was just very excited about the increase in music caption scores, especially the drumline number.

Hey Bill, I think that you're right, but I think they were probably selected for their fleur-like appearance. The reason I say this is because Ramiro told us that there were two fleurs in the show. Hope Frankie's enjoying everything!

Look closely. There are several forms that are fleur variations, or at least that's what they look like to me.

Seriously.. I really enjoy seeing the caption breakdowns between that group of corps. Also, Madison's hornline is starting to get there!

Just watched Scouts' show on the FN. Huge step up! Hornline's way louder and cleaner, but the thing that caught my attention most was how much the visual has improved. I'll be sending some text messages and letting them know they're getting some love on DCP from you guys.

Have you guys ever read Grimm's Fairy Tales? Kids have been handling a lot more than this kind of stuff for a long time. Give them some credit.

I didn't know this happened, but I'm 99% positive I know who was responsible. And since I think that the caption head, Nick Williams, is getting there either today or soon, then the consequences are going to be dire.

Blue Stars' placement looks right to me. Very good show out of them. Spirit should be far closer to the bottom. I don't have too much of an issue with Xmen being over the Scouts tonight, but the Troopers being above is a mistake, I think.
