  2. I ended up listening to this show randomly this morning, perusing the Season Pass streaming audio. At the time, I thought it was ... okay. Not as good as the "americana" stuff from the previous years, though. But listening to it today, man that show has aged well. The music really wouldn't be out of place even today, 13 years later. The tempos are right in line with today's music, the structures / melody / etc all seem pretty contemporary, et cetera. Really, I have to give really belated props to their arrangers - they put together a quite nice musical package that had strong performances through every section - there's no weakness in the music book. ^OO^ Mike
  3. SCV's Russia poster is on the wall by my desk right now. I'd give it a slight edge over Carolina's Angelus one (over on the other wall). For T-shirts, this year I was actually underwhelmed with them - it didn't seem like anyone really had a "wow" one. (Although BAC's "Vote for Waldo" one was awesome!) Mike
  4. I remember a corps doing it, but I can't find a listing on corpreps. I want to say Delta Brigade for some reason, but double checking the site, that's not the one. Mike
  5. There's a few on Ebay right now - search for "drum corps dvd". Mike

  8. I agree - subscribers should get to stream the APD's. I thought it was worth the cost for this summer, but next summer I would expand greatly increased features or it won't be as much of a value. I can live with this being the "beta" year, but next year they really need to come out with guns blazing. Mike
  9. If DCP charged $39/user per 90 days, *then* you could complain about the hosting provider. As Compel Solutions had been giving us a completely free server so we didn't have to charge anyone's butt to be here, you take what you can get. On a SP related note, I'm finally getting around to listening to the semis streams. Seattle Cascades show is *really* nice with the pared-down narration - there's a lot of cool music that had been going on back there that can now be heard. :) Mike
  10. Well, except that we are paying for this service. Even if a fix isn't forthcoming, info should be. Mike
  11. This thread is still cracking me up. Mike
  12. You guys crack me up sometimes. Mike
  13. Most Entertaining, in order of finish (not order of preference): Phantom Regiment Bluecoats Carolina Crown Blue Knights Colts Mike
  14. I vote for "In the Cradle of Odin." Mike
  15. Not to say that the Cadets' show wasn't good, but I just liked the other better. Mike
  16. I thought it was a pretty good show - the narrator actually tied the musical program into a seamless whole - think about it - there's no break anywhere in the program. However, the narration did break up the "flow" of the music as well. So you ended up with what seemed like a long stream of mini-musical pieces. Not something I want them to do every year, but as a one-year deal, I thought it was something neat to try. Mike
  17. First off, I think the SP is well worth the money, and as they add the 13-24 corps to the streaming audio, even a bargain. That said, there were a few things, looking back, that I'd like to see tweaked. - Agree with earlier - lose the video clip on the intro page - I can't say how many times over the summer I had to frantically turn my speakers down after coming back to it. Finally, it got to the point where I would click 'Login' as quick as I could so it wouldn't load the video. - The most important thing - they need to say more than one day in advance what they're going to provide, and then they need to provide it. Period. It needs to be clear and upfront what's going to be on SP and what's going to be on DCI.org. I would even go so far as to put their "regular" almost-live score updates on SP, and then update the .org site just every AM. - For the semis streams, you know they didn't tell you anywhere in there where to find them? It was halfway done before I realized they weren't with the "live event" page, like the APD's have been! - Anyways, just minor tweaks - otherwise, I think they did an awesome job this summer, and this was the closest I've felt to the corps as they've toured... well, ever. Thanks, Mike
  18. Until this is confirmed by the corps, it's nothing but a rumor. Mike
  19. Please take this off of the public forums. Thanks, Mike
  20. Can we not flame the Cadets' show 10 minutes after they win? Thanks, Mike
  21. Um, can we not flame the Cadets show this way? Mike
