Allentown: Blues in tonight
Boybugle63 replied to blueorginal's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
For Murfreesboro, performance order has three groupings. For the Masters show, you have 4 Corps march before intermission and 4 after. The 8th and 7th highest scoring Corps from Allentown will draw for the first and second performance times in the Boro. Blue Knights and Crown The 6th, 5th and 4th highest scoring Corps from Allentown will draw for the 3rd, 4th and 5th performance times in the Boro. SCV, Phantom and Bluecoats The 3rd, 2nd and 1st highest scoring Corps from Allentown will draw for the 6th, 7th and 8th performance times in the Boro. Cavies, Cadets and Blue Devils The same rationale will be used for evening performance times in Atlanta based on Murfreesboro results. Will be interesting to see when each Corps marchings!! -
Have you guys ever thought about – “maybe this person is trying to manipulate?” plant the seed – “If they did it in Allentown, why I guess I’ll do it too?” In all my 30 years of attending shows, I’ve seen very few people walk out during a performance. Most of the time, I’ve seen parents take a small child out because the little one has become restless. I’ve never seen anyone walk out and vocalize their displeasure of a Corps – the Corps’ performance, design, etc. Maybe some of the folks I saw were upset with a show, but they didn’t interrupt. I think “George” (the DCP members) had the “posting of the day:” Wow - some of the attitudes & mindsets in this tread are quite - um - "unimpressive"

With scores from last night, interest in the Allentown results is tremendous. The impact of scores from Allentown carries so much weight for the Murfreesboro Contest, then moving into the Atlanta Regional. It all comes down to performance order! For Murfreesboro, performance order has three groupings. For the Masters show, you have 4 Corps march before intermission and 4 after. The 8th and 7th highest scoring Corps from Allentown will draw for the first and second performance times in the Boro. The 6th, 5th and 4th highest scoring Corps from Allentown will draw for the 3rd, 4th and 5th performance times in the Boro. The 3rd, 2nd and 1st highest scoring Corps from Allentown will draw for the 6th, 7th and 8th performance times in the Boro. The same rationale will be used for evening performance times in Atlanta based on Murfreesboro results. If you used last night’s (July 6th) scores, the three Corps to marching in the last group at Masters would be The Blue Devils, The Santa Clara Vanguard and The Cavies. Will The Bluecoats, The Cadets or Phantom Regiment be able to push into that top group this weekend??? Wow, what a great season!!!

If possible, each participating Corps will perform a stand still. No refund, all the major DCI contests have listed on the tickets “no refund.” Hope this helps! At least you have San Antonio and late in the season!!!

Your Favorite Cadets Championship

1984 is at the top of the list for me! For non-winning -- 1997!!! -
What's up Fussy Cat! Actually, I consider myself a Drum Corps Fan first who happens to admire The Cadets but cheers for all of the Corps. Who had me on my feet last year the most, Crown and Phantom. After watching the webcast, I had concerns about The 2007 Cadets' show -- heck, I had concerns when I heard the audio from Memorial Brass. When I saw the show live, it surprised me how the performance pulled me into the production -- Yes, when I saw them, the narration at times was distracting, but I know Hop and Crew will be fine toning. Ok, I have not seen this question on DCP -- What do you guys do under the stands and what is the true meaning of "Hot Dog?" Wait, delete that -- don't want to know!!! I joined DCP back in 2002. I’ve viewed the board as both a resource and entertainment. It’s fun to pull up the website in the morning and read the “talk;” however some of the “talk” is toxic and bitter. I appreciate passion, but! When it comes down to it, you're attacking an organization that many of us hold dear -- The Cadets have meant so much to me over many years. When Phantom, Cavies , Blue Devils, etc, etc. Fans and supporters speak up to counter a posting, I cheer them on and don’t think twice about it. Heck, I was very critical of the 2006 show -- probably will never watch or listen to that show again. Criticism is one thing, but using venom is another. For me, the 2007 Season is turning out to be one of the best -- looking forward to my next live show!

Come on Fussy Cat -- what shows have you seen live this season?? MikeD: edited to fix quotes

As a 30 plus year Drum Corps Fan, I have to disagree with you. Seeing The 2007 Cadets live is totally different than watching them on a webcast. What show did you see the corps live?

Where "This I Believe" Comes From
Boybugle63 replied to Gil-galad's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I listen to NPR every morning -- many of the essays have left me in tears, but others have left me in laughter ... great spot. My company used this last year during our annual "Townhall" meeting -- great messages were written by many of my colleagues. The folks at YEA were very up front about using this as a basis for The Cadets 2007 Show. From NPR's website: "What is This I Believe? This I Believe is an international project engaging people in writing, sharing, and discussing the core values that guide their daily lives. These short statements of belief, written by people from all walks of life, are archived here and featured on public radio in the United States and Canada. The project is based on the popular 1950s radio series of the same name hosted by Edward R. Murrow." -

Good Lord, trying to make a point -- by posting this twice??? Two different shows, two sets of different Judges, etc. etc.. You can not compare the two. Congrats to the Bluecoats!!! Very cool!! -
So, this leaves only one Corps undefeated this season -- The Cavaliers -- Right????

Looks like the .5 refers to Brass score only 14.7 to 14.2. -

Cadets now have downloads available at their website: New for 2007! All clips are full length. All tracks are the same recordings that are found on the 2007 Cadets "This I Believe" CD. Tracks will turn into downloadable links after completing the checkout process. The three "This I Believe" show tracks have both show versions (with narration), or music-only versions to choose from. -

I was just thinking that as I listen to the Audio. WOW, Cavies sound great! It does remind me of Old School, which is a good thing :P -
