  1. So Lisa.. Given this information, are you ready to retract your obviously misinformed statement?
  2. My personal life really is none of your business, but, if you must know, I do not have the time to be able to commit to marching, nevermind the fact that due to a worsening of a medical condition, marching isn't exactly feasable. So, jump to conclusions all you want. I'm sickened about what happened. And I lay blame squarely at the feet of 1 individual.
  3. I wore my sunglasses at DCA 2002. But then again, mine are prescription.
  4. I have to agree with Stef 100% here. CE was always 1/2 second from being cut when I was on staff, and I, for one, am not sorry to see it go either. Aside to Stef: You MUST PM me the link to that error thing you have in your sig. Thanks!
  5. I like to describe it as a hammer hitting an anvil...over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. However, it DOES cut through to be heard...so I suppose its useful. But stand through a 2 hour ensemble practice with it blaring away directly behind you and you wanna take the ###### thing and demolish it.
  6. It could be a DNS issue...I've had it happen on several occasions. JohnD is much better than I am at assisting with this. :)
  7. Tell you what, the 2006 stuff was goose bump city with the chords and stuff. Tounging exercises? We've all done them...
  8. Ugh... Advil and Aleve made LOTS of money off of me during winter rehersals when I marched..When I played Mellophone, invariably the doctor was directly behind me, and when I played sop, it was so loud to be heard that all I'd go home hearing is PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK PLINK. Must....Kill....The....Doctor. However, the Doctor is the truth, and the truth shall set you free. 180 is 180, and when you don't practice at 180, it can be a shock.
  9. I call ######## here. There have been times where not only were BLATANT personal attacks ignored, the offender wasn't even given a stern talking to. But, if other members so much as peep out of line, here, have a vacation. Its smacks of a double standard, and I, for one, am sick and tired of it. Self-Moderation HAS NOT WORKED. It is a failure as a policy. The way the CE forums are now is a direct example of how Self-Moderation has not worked. Time to fix the problem. And, IMO, fixing the problem would be 2 fold: 1. End self-moderation of CE and the OT forums. 2. Revamp the staff. I can think of 2, maybe 3 FSTM's who are worth anything. Can the rest, along with the invisible community administrator and start over. But what do I know.
  10. I respond as a fan, not a member of the Cabs, something that i have not been since 2004.
  11. Maybe it's my system, but I can't get to any of the 2000-2006 recaps, it asks me to donate.
  12. We get it Shadow, you don't like Rochester. There's no need to remind us about that in EVERY thread. And, keep in mind you can go out and eat without drinking...
  13. I wish I lived closer, I'd go do that in a NY minute.
  14. Not as cool as the Bridgemen Shuffle. :P
  15. Au Contrair Dan. June, 2003. Waterbury show. The show lived up to its name. As we marched on (not in uniform, as the actual competetion was cancelled, but corps were asked to do exhibitions), the rain was harder and harder, to the point of a monsoon. Jim Russo was in the stands in a white jacket, and you couldn't see him because of the rain. I couldn't see 5 feet in front of me as my glasses were fogged and steamed. So I *CAN* relate to horrible conditions, and have marched in them. Should DCA have cancelled the show entirely? Possibly. But, if you propose prelims on Sun after the alumni, when do you hold finals? Monday? Its lose-lose for everyone involved.
