  1. Party at Matt's!! WOOT! Can we all crash at your place?
  2. Thanks for reading my mind, Matt. Careful, it's scary in there!
  3. Check out the AFTERNOON LIVE FEED thread!! :)
  4. Thanks for the advance notice SP. Can't wait til Saturday!!
  5. Yep, checked the website and email for announcement late afternoon and... nothing. Got home tonight as BD was leaving the field post-Encore. Man, am I PO'd! A little notice is not that difficult, eh DCI? Email is already sent to SP Customer Care.
  6. Even though voice is mic'd, I believe musical vocals fall into two categories: Music Ensemble and Music GE... seems to make the most sense.
  7. Mostly balanced on the sheets. Tie in Overall GE. PR wins music, Bloo wins visual-- GE and overall. Big spread in guard caption. G-men second in Vis Perf! Tight race in percussion.
  8. Unfortunately, the guard guy post was not based on dislike but had h0m0phobia written all over it: "super flaming guard guys... trying to shove homosexuality down the audience's throat." Gay-haters have used this language for decades to justify their position and this statement smacks of irrational fear and hate. His bias is showing. I mean, really, did he ever actually march in a corps with male guard members? Bottom line, it's offensive.
  9. After having time to ferment in the hot sun for several hours. Mmmmmm... delish. Meet my friend Sam. Sam Manella :mmm: :mmm: :mmm:
  10. That's VERY close! Not only are they in the same "neighborhood" but could easily swap places. This is the kind of scoring where either corps could best the other at any given moment based on performance. And that's the best kind.
  11. I marched at the UC stadium WAAAY back in the early 80's when BOA was still called MBA (Marching Bands of America). Had a big regional there for a while. Is it still the same stadium? Ah, memories... cue music
  12. Grew up in the Dayton, OH area and did march in the closest corps at the time-- Pride of Cincinnati Class of 1984. That was the last year of DCI competition for them. Who knew they would grow into such an amazing World Class WGI caliber guard? Things Ain't What They Used To Be!
  13. I'm w/ you... might have to bring out a little of the Scarlet and Grey for Semi's myself!!
  14. I think the Colts are really great this year but realistically it's a dogfight for 12th place between them, Spirit, and Crossmen. There's just too much room between them and the G-Men/Scouts/BK pack. Maybe there will be a 3-way tie for 12th place and they'll ALL make finals!!
  15. Very close race. Given some of the "Huh?' spreads, looks like it's a catfight to the end.
  16. I agree with you George (again). Cavies the cleanest tonight visually by far. Nice balanced horn sound, too. BUT Cadets and BD have ALOT of potential. I think it will be close at the end of the season. Will get a better read live in Atlanta.
  17. I'm a visual person and thought it was just me but ...yeah, a little blatty (?). Some visual dirt out there too. Holes? Vis transitions, too. Looked like the "handle" of the dagger was set off about 2 steps. Awesome guard!
  18. I"VE BEEN WAITING ALL NIGHT FOR THIS!! Go BD!
  19. Yeah. Much more emotional impact last time they were streamed.
  20. Visually VERY dirty for the first half of the show. Seemed like they were stronger in the second half, even though their responsibilities were greater. Guard much improved.
  21. Sorry but the block to the triangle form in the beginning was an absolute MESS! I hope they can clean this up.
  22. Very interesting indeed, Steve! Lotsa of action on the field, lots of neat moments... love the stuff they do with the pink tables, the multi-meter as drums exit and re-enter. Got a little chill from the ending. Still lots to clean up, some spacing problems and timing from the normally Uber clean guard. Can't wait to see this live... missed ALOT with ant sized view. Not distracted by the vocals or the chatter... felt appropriate. Might not be some peoples "cup of tea" but Cadet are top notch once again!
  23. I agree. That wavering company front at the end had some problems visually. Little errors here and there. With that said, that guard is AMAZING!! Integrations was seamless.
  24. Big standing O from the crowd... looked pretty spontaneous. Crowd clapping in time with the exit from the field. I'd say they enjoyed it a great deal! HERE COMES BLOOOOOO!!!!
