  1. The Royal Airs are appearing? Great news! Are they in exhibition or competition? Wish I could be there.
  2. The bigger question is why do we have to endure name calling just because we express our disapproval over something we don't like? We all have the right to disagree, we all have the right to express disapproval as well, like it or not! Grow up!
  3. I find it difficult to believe that Madison is that bad or that Pio is that good.
  4. Brilliant logic! Every time someone disagrees with a judge's score or comment, fire them! Before too long we will not have any judges left. But that's okay as most people posting on DCP seem to know the activity and how to judge it much better then an accredited judge anyway. Why not let them judge?
  5. I wonder if he/she is related to Gale Lindsey? Remember "her?"
  6. Very tacky! Glad we changed our minds and decided not to attend this one.
  7. Could be......in D2. If they are very lucky.
  8. Holy cow, Batman! The 2008 DCI Championship may be the show that never was!! If that comes to pass, it could be the beginning of the end for DCI.
  9. Differences aside, it is a sad day for the entire activity when a great corps such as the Kingsmen aren't able to take the field. Same holds true for their junior counterpart, the KingsmenStar Corps. Hopefully they will eventually be able to pull it all together.
  10. Only two shows this year, Pacific Procession and Pasadena. I am looking forward to seeing all the WC corps plus PR. It's too bad the KAC or their Star Corps won't be able to participate this season. A major loss to the activity on both counts.
  11. I am happy to hear things are going so well in Racine. I expected no less what with Scott Stewart and Company in charge. The Kilties have always been one of my favorite midwest corps, junior or senior. I hope the 2008 competition season is very rearding for them. I am disappointed I won't have the opportunity to see them in person. Go Mad Plaid!
  12. Never in a million years would I have expected something as ominous as this to be on the horizon for the WC. Obviously this is a potential disaster for all concerned. I will certainly do my part to help.
  13. The spiraling price of fuel is going to adversely effect the activity. Both from the stand point of the touring corps and the casual and die hard spectators. It's only going to get worse. Anyone who believes other wise is very naive. IMO, this could also be the beginning of the end for extensive touring during the summer. The activity could be forced to tour they way they did prior to DCI. That is, local shows during the first part of the season in a tri state area. This would be followed by an abbreviated nationals tour leading to the Championship, say the last two or three weeks of the season. I am afraid to even guess how something like this would effect the WC corps. The prognosis in this respect can't be that positive.
  14. They sound so desperate. So join them already.
  15. I hate the word "tuba," especially when it's used in reference to a "drum corps." Hurl!
  16. Ecactly my point, value for the money it is NOT. Also, what with the economy taking a major downturn, not to forget the high cost of gas. Couple this with the fact Indy/Bloomington are not exactly the Number One tourist destinations in the world, $125 for a single ticket to a drum corps finals show is absolutely ridicilous! I had my fill of DCI at the Rose Bowl. I will just wait until it returns to Cali.
  17. propaganda; : ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause ; also : a public action having such an effect
  18. This is indeed sad news for organizations such as drum corps who rely on bingo as their main form of fund raising. However, tt's just a matter of time before other states follow similar bans.
  19. From what I have heard about Bloomington, Indiana, it is a very nice college town. I've also heard the University's Stadium is a Class A1 facility. None the less, IMHO, this change over from the new Lucas Oil Stadium to the U of Indiana stadium is somewhat of a let down. Especially considering last year's Championship was held in SoCal's very prestigious Rose Bowl.
