  1. And you know what they say about people and their opinions. Tic Tac?
  2. Great news. What would it take to get some non-DCA-C corps out for the Minnesota shows? I think the last time there was any sort of concerted effort along those lines was in the late 80's with the Chicago Vanguard?
  3. And no doubt, they were built with said speakers and scoreboards that were DESIGNED to get wet. If the electronics in this stadium aren't well I hate to be Captain Obvious here but that means that they cannot get wet. It's funny how whiny and pi$$y DCI fans are now. And they accused us dinosaurs of being a bunch of never-happy people.
  4. Best Answer EVER! Especially since we now have "corps" playing bass guitars and synthesizers on the field. This is really big in the marching band arena.
  5. Sure we can. I have for the last 5 years. Life goes on. I got tired of sitting in the stands at the shows and thinking WTF am I doing here? And I got tired of the attitude (mostly here) that if I didn't like it I should move on. So I moved. Still like to make the occasional appearance here to see that others are starting to see the same light I've been seeing, and this year seems to be producing a bumper crop of people. As has been pointed out in the thread above, the slippery slope has been entered. Enjoy the ride.
  6. Why? Don't you want to support the activity what made you what you are today to the fullest extent possible? Back on topic. IF I were to be seen at a DCI show situation number 1 would be handled with a polite request to be quiet and escalating to a STFU if need be. Situation number 2 would have had the offenders removed. As previously stated that seat is MINE and when I decide to use it is nobody's business.
  7. So based on the complaints in this thread it would appear that DCI has pulled a Milli-Vanilli on its fans this year. And I am loving the outcry over something that "would never happen". Heh.
  8. Let me reiterate. With all of the other traditions going by the wayside why is not allowing some interloper to break ranks still a big deal. It's just one of those dumb traditions from the bad old days of drum corps right?
  9. Maybe because the rest of the dinosaurs who have been threatening to stop going to DCI shows finally stopped going?
  10. Welcome to the modern, hipper drum bands. With all of the other tradition being thrown out, why cling to this one? Just asking is all.
  11. Gladly. Now all I need is for the DCI corps to stop begging me for money. It is your lawn now. YOU maintain it.
  12. But the question is, DO OC corps want to risk their potential to move up into world class in DCI? You walk in lockstep with the rule makers or you risk repercussions. Ask Pioneer how well things worked for them in 2004 when they remained the only Div 1 corps to stay with DCM.
  13. Even the mighty oak must give lest it break. Or, Kate, as your friends might say, change happens. One needs to learn to deal with it.
  14. No and I do not plan on doing it. As I stated several years ago if my views or ideas on where the activity is going are a burden then far be it from me to stand in its way. And my money goes with me.
  15. And why should the National FOOTBALL League give a #### about promoting DCI? Hell, DCI doesn't like to promote much beyond the Div 1/Top 12. Why expect a disinterested party to do more than the keeper of drum corps legacy does?
