ok, well, regardless, I dont see how you have the kind of issues which occured on finals night in BD guard and at the difficulty level of the work being what it is and still be ranked with the spread they had

Well, maybe their drums did not receive a perfect score, but their guard did. I can tell you that I saw at least 3 drops and and numerous other timing issues on finals night. I can not undersatnd how you can have a perfect score with these kind of issues going on. Also, the level of work the guard of BD was attempting, in my opinion, was no more difficult or mind blowing then either the cavies or crown.....

Well, a drastic overhaul has occured within DCI. No more do we have the g7 on the board of directors manipulating everthing and using DCI as the convient scapegoat for policies they themselves have pushed through and created. Perhapse with a new board we will have greater representation of the entire membership of DCI, not just that of the g7. I just hope the new board and other non g7 members of DCI continue to have the guts to stand up to and not be intimidated any longer by the tantrums, anger and fear tactics of the g7 corps.

as was posted in the thread previously, this is the make up of the new board. Keep in mind, people have to be willing and have the time to be a memeber of the board. A good board is generally made up of a variety of people who have a variety of skills and talents they can bring to discussions....maybe madison simply, for what ever reason, chose not to be on the board. However, their position on how they feel about the g7 is well documented especially with the quote in the CNN report.

Great job Blue Stars on a very successful season. I can honestly say this is the best 8th place corps I have ever seen and in my opinion, deserving of a higher placement. I cant wait until next season and what is to come!!!

Very interesting that the current g7 forget that not to long ago it was corps like BlueStars, Troopers, Madison Etc... who brought in all of the money, filled the stands, and made it possible for many of the G7 to exist today.

It is funny to me to see the reaction of the g7 supporters getting a taste of their own medicine. Now you know how the other non g7 DCI members have been treated and feeling for years under the thumb of the old board who generally did not take into account the majorty of DCI membership.

I hope this is not the last dci finals as we know it!! and the g7 corps, or at least some of them, really come to understand the potential for destroying one of the most wonderful activites of the summer

As I wrote else where, I hope the judges have not been strong armed with the threat of being black balled from other marching/color guard/band/marcing arts events the G7 have influence over or control the hiring of judges for. I hope the non G7 coprs and DCI administration have the balls not to continue to be bullied by the G7 intimadators. This has been going on for way to long and it is about time they were stood up to. The only way to deal with a greedy bully is to give it right back, call a spade a spade and not be afraid to calll their bluff. Bullies work from a place of fear and anger. DCI and non G7 corps, please dont fall into their trap and stand firm.

probably wont matter much in the up coming years if the g7 WSDC have their way, may not even be a DCI with a Blue Devils in it moving forward... and imagine how exciting this year would be without them

No... they would NOT get paid what a normal DCI corps would get paid. The whole idea behind setting up different shows where only they preform at is so they get to run away with the entire profits of the show and not share it with DCI or any other non g7 corps.

has a lot to do with the discussions regarding the g7 (world series of drum coprs disscussion) if the g 7 pull out of dci, and offer competing shows on the same or close to same night, would you support going to a g7 coprs or a non g7 coprs. where would you spend your money

I cant believe DCI would give up their established shows and all the money they generate to the G7 in particular: June 16: San Antonio June 17: Dallas July 11: Omaha July 29: Murfreesboro Unless, I am not reading this right and the G7 has set up competing shows in these places.

this is the exact same tactic they used in killing off DCM. Now they seem to be trying to apply it to DCI. half in half out at first and then schedule alternate shows close by other established shows. I agree you are either in or out and are working to build DCI as a stronger organization and not running away with the purse on seporate nights

The World Series of DC sure is a nice read going into finals week. Maybe this truely is the last DCI finals there will be.

awww come on, just a little more of a hint, I cant wait until this weekend to see the true ending of the show. Sounds like it is going to be even more awsome than it alreay is. Here is to moving up to at least 6th place. I have predicted long ago if they move up, beating phantom or SCV, it would not occure until finals week. I bet SCV on semis night and Phantom on finals night for 6th place. Time will tell. Either way it has been a great season for the Blue Stars. FCO

I could very easily see SCV as low as 8 or 9th!

seems as though corps with a history of dong well the previous year (or long history of doing well) get the benifite of the doubt for at least the first 3/4 of the season. I believe Boston has a very good chance of beating SCV by years end. However, if they do, it probably wont occure until finals week with all of the associated drama

Would really liked to have seen the Blue Stars tonight..... great show!! Will have to see how things shake out between now and the end of the season.. I have a feeling the top 8 and arrangemt of will look very different come Indi.

I simply cant wait until Blue Stars get their entire show on the field come finals!!! Cant Wait!!! Will be fun

This is the kind of stuff more corps should be doing to build better relations with the community. These kind of activities can only result in better donations, community support and visibility for the activity. Go Blue Stars!
