BeinGreen
the idea is to answer or pose a particular trivia question, right? I am interested in percussion scores, esp #1 & #2 since '65 I guess my trivia questions are: 1. Which corps has been awarded the most high drum awards at championships? (Bushwackers?) 12 consecutive top 2 percussion finishes (1984-1995), Six consecutive percussion titles 1986-1991), Bushwackers 2. Which corps has the most runner up high drum scores? (Bush again?) 3. Which corps has won high horns with the least number of players? 4. Why dont we all audition for the Crusaders and get them a #### trophy already! They deserve one. Scoring Records:Highest Open Class score? Brigadiers in 2002 - 98.600 Longest held record for Open Class score? The Sunrisers scored a 94.150 in 1977. That was the highest score until 1987 when the Sunrisers scored a 94.840. Highest Class A score? CorpsVets in 2001 - 83.750 Longest held record for Open Class score? The CorpsVets score has yet to be topped. way to answer the question and not grandstand for your own corps, thanks.
Bob Kidd
the idea is to answer or pose a particular trivia question, right? I suppose so, but is it really all that important? way to answer the question and not grandstand for your own corps, thanks. I wouldn't consider anyone's response to this thread "grandstanding", but that's just me. Back to the trivia - whether asked, answered, or both (even at the same time). SunRunner
wow, just wow. in one corps! awesome!I would buy dinner AND drinks to hear all the stories. hope to meet you someday Come on by the corps at a show and say hello! I'm easy to find! Some other answers to the trivia: The Sunrisers also have six High Drum Awards - 77,78,79,81,82,83, (second by .1 to a great Skyliner line in 80). I would not think that was the record but I'll check my book at home. Smallest horn line to win DCA Sunrisers with 37 in 1987 - possibly. Diceman
The Cabs have dominated a lot of the records of DCA, for sure. Here are some of the other quirky things that only the Caballeros can lay claim to in DCA's 42 year history. Only corps to win prelims outright and not win finals. One year two corps tied for first in Prelims - and neither of them won... (Cabs were involved in that, too) Here are a couple more: 1) Name the only corps to win both the Class A and Open Class Championships (Kind of a trick question, but should be an easy one...) 2) Which Finalist corps didn't make Finals the following year? (They had to have competed in Prelims)
Kyle B
way to answer the question and not grandstand for your own corps, thanks. I'm sure this goes for most people on here, but many if not all of us are proud of our corps accomplishments over the years. I never marched or saw Bush before 2006, but to know that I'm in a corps that has produced such master shows such as 1986, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996 and much much more means a lot to me. I can tell you that there have been many times driving out to PA and back to NJ, I put on Bush starting with 1982, and for 3 hours listen so some of the coolest sounds I have ever heard. Plus, I'm a history person. I'm one of those guys who can spend an entire day at Wikipedia (like the past few days) and knowing my corps has a claim to fame is cool to me. That being said, here is another question. What was the largest hornline to win a championship? SunRunner, don't know if it's true or not, but Jerome also said Bush had 37 people in 1988. Will have to ask someone who marched that year this weekend. As for the tie in Prelims. 1986 - Cabs and Steel City Ambassdors tied for first and later that day Bushwackers won their first show, the DCA Championship. BeinGreen
I'm sure this goes for most people on here, but many if not all of us are proud of our corps accomplishments over the years. I personally appreciated all the fun facts regarding the Bushwackers, it was appropriate.so have we got the name of the member with the longest tenure for each DCA corps active since the 60s at this point? How many years did Harvey Olderman march? (I miss seeing him in uniform) "Cupcakes" Curran has the longest Hurc tenure? how many? Skyliners- Ray "Bubba" Lane 30yrs Sunrisers - Larry Visconti 36yrs Cabs- Mike Ryan? 30yrs Bucs - Skee Derr? Crusaders - Bill Hoyt ?yrs Brigadiers/Crusaders - Tom Meek 41yrs Lou Stork? weird, much of what was discussed here is written up here: http://www.bushwackers.org/history/bush-1986-dcw.html edit: here's a trivia question that might surprise some people, Reading won DCA playing "Sylvia" as a closer but which Senior corps played it first in 1967? (I think they were first) Edited August 8, 2007 by BeinGreen

Not 100% sure but they may have also won in 1968. The Bushwackers and Sunrisers are tied with 6 each.
