Wish ya'll could see a HUGE chunk of pix of Deb in action on the KAC site. I must say that Deb does the most outstanding rifle work and looks awesome doing it. Unbelievable SNAP on tosses and spins, perfect hand postioning, chin held high, shako pulled low. One of the superstars of the now legendary '07 KAC rifle line.

I marched one of the first years that SCV used something besides rifles in '79. Scepters. 'Member those? Yup, the bedknobs from OSH on Lawrence and Pruneridge. I think they worked better for the '80 show than the '79 show. I do prefer rifles, but can't picture either of those shows using them.

DCI was OK this year, but be honest...nothing got the crowd going like the KAC. And every cheer that was made for us was usually after a rifle toss, a killer spin or a salute to 'Ol Glory with the rifles literally "guarding" the colors. The horns and the drums were really just a backdrop for the KAC rifle line.:blink::blink:

Why do "the kids" still spin rifles? So the fans will know when to cheer.

Aaawww Kev, you are too kind! I am only one of 23 and we were 23 out of 286. If it weren't for the horns and drums, we would be pretty lonely out there. Besides, when I buy the CD, it won't be the rifle line I'll be listening to :worthy:

And when I look at the pix, it won't be the hornline I'll be looking at. I'd better face facts, I'm a Blue Steel Fanboy.

So Jan, you live in Spain.

This was taken from a funny quote in this thread - http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...howtopic=103453

Apparently, they were under the impression that this was for guinea pig breeders.

Isn't Spain communist as of their last election? Communists are usually against personal freedom and against personal firearm ownership so said people can be controlled a lot easier?:blink: :(

:sigh:

Spain is technically a Parliamentary Representative Democratic Constitutional Monarchy (Monarch = Head of State, President = Head of Government, Judiciary = Independent), quite similar to the form of government in the UK.

The form of government does not change based on which party is dominant in both chambers of parliament, just as the form of government in the United States (Federal Constitutional Republic), does not change based on which party holds majority of the house and senate.

The part currently holding the majority in Spain is the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party. This is the Spanish branch of the Social Democratic Party, the same party that is dominant in all of Scandinavia, for example (#### those commie Swedes and their cheap, shoddy, unsafe Volvos).

This party is also closely related to the British Labour Party, which has been dominant in UK for some time, and the German SDP, which is currently in power. All of these parties, including the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party are all part of a single pan-European party, which is the PES (Party of European Socialists)

....

Putting this thread back on the rails... I am not against gun ownership in any way. Read the thread.

Since when do we alter the activity to fit the theme ??

Since "forever".

Now we have narration, amplification, now altered guard equipment ?? Again crutches hiding true creativity.

Just like permitting corps to start and end on the field was a crutch, and just like flags and rifle actually DOING work was...just like adding mallets was...valves to horns...etc....

Nope drum corps has NEVER changed anything at all since 1957.
