If there have been no Guesses..........Then give a *challenging* hint.

When giving hints on these try to be creative and just dangle the tiniest tidbit. Make people really think / work on it. Then wait it out a while before tossing another tiny vague tidbit...

C'mon we've got to make these last a little longer. PLEASE??

Also, any comments made MUST be made in good taste... this is a fun loving thread... not a revenge match. Please spew your venom elsewhere.

DONE!

Great people... two of whom died way too young... (Charlie and Phil) ... Joe was getting up there when he passed... as a world war II vet... and of course Arnold is not only doing well... he's still playing a mean horn...

Here's a Charlie Ragonese classic... straight from the late great Fred Gebhardt...

When the corps was reorganizing under new management after the disaster of a 1962 season (the season that wasn't and saw my big brother end up doing a year with Crusaders)... part of the reorganization was the purchase of new uniforms... this was a BIG deal... much argument as most thought the uniform of the 50's should not be changed or violated... just copied... there was a strong push for all black... common sense would prevail and the board chose "almost" the same uniform with a change from a red stripe to black and the addition of red applets...

but anyway... this was a HUGE conflict... (picture what happened when sky tried to change not too long ago)... So the board kept the new design secret so as to not fuel the fires of controversy... finally, the day came to unveil the new uniform and the sample had been made to fit the boss... Charlie Ragonese... So with all the old brigs in the main room of the PLAV and the new (Fred Gebhardt) along with a returned Corky Fabrizio... everyone sat waiting for the unveiling - some anticipating a fist fight... Charlie went up in the balcony of the PLAV and changed into the uniform... then came strutting through the door...

Wearing an authentic and VERY expensive Niagara Militaires queens guard uniform with gold braid and all and 2 foot high busbee just like those in front of buckingham palace... he proceeded to go into one of his hilarious routines with that uniform and a swagger stick... after about a half hour of entertainment worthy of SNL.... left Gebhardt lying on the floor... he then proceeded to take off the furry bussbee and go into his classic Hitler routine - outdoing every comic you could ever imagine... that was the genius of Charlie Ragonese...

If anyone ever saw the all black uniform worn by Donnie Carrocio as drum major 67 to 70.... THAT is the uniform that was originally decided on for EVERYONE prior to the compromise that made for a strong corps in the later half of the 60's

Interesting bit of Brigs history ... I recall your drumline wearing black uniform jackets some years ... maybe around 66 or 67? ... not sure about 63 ... I do remember the Brig's using Blessed Sacrament's drums at the 63 WO as Bobby Thompson taught both corps ... sounded fine but, they did look a little odd with your unis ...
