Triple Forte
Just watched the 2007 Madison Scouts on DVD. Just as I remembered it back when I saw ya in Allentown and Pasadena.....awesome. I want to thank Madison for bringing back the sizzle and attitude that represents Madison and "True Drum Corps". The soloists in particular acted and played with a "take no prisoners" approach that is seen very little (If at all) anymore. It was refreshing to say the least. I am sure you will be stronger and more aggressive than ever in 2008....... 2007 Madison Scouts; one of (If not the most) unique and effective openings to a show. Iplaytimpani
Don't disagree and one of my favorite shows to listen to. But I still wanna know who in the design meeting went "Lets take our all male corps and open with some Alanis Morrisette!" Awesome piece, glad to hear it on a field. Never would have thought it'd be the scouts bringing it though.

And lets not forget how hard they had to work between Allentown and finals week just to get the CG finished. Simply AMAZING.
TerriTroop
Add my "me too!" to the thread. When my family was over recently I showed them Madison's opening 4 times at their request. (these people are NOT corps people) I was watching it when they got to the door and they were blown away. I love the Morrisette opener! And my sister totally loved the Kashmir section. (old hippy that she is! I thought it was brilliant as well.)
Geneva
Never have I been more impressed at the improvement in a corps over the course of a season. I saw them live at Allentown and was underwhelmed, but the semis webcast blew me away! The power and determination oozed from that performance! The OTL was wonderfully staged and their ending fanfare sparkled. Madison has always been a personal favorite and I was worried after Allentown, but not anymore! Pinwiz
They should have kept the original ending concept. And Crossmen's opening was cooler. :)

xhead
I can only repeat: this was one of the most awesome show designs -- music and drill -- I have every seen, and I've been watching since 1976. I really enjoyed Madison at finals this year.
ToferVis
yea don't trash this show unless you saw it late in the season....it was like 2 entirely different shows, they def. showed some of the most improvement in 1 season i've seen in a while.
