cone256
and FINALLYThe Red/White of the Commandants own, US Marine Drum and Bugle Corps! KILLER Stuff! Tony Well if we're going with the military uniform. I gotta go with my own Army Dress Blues. Not only do I look good in them ;-) but they are pretty comfortable as far as dress uniforms go. If something works well - and continues to work well even today - then why change it? Way back when.... Hawthorne's uniform was distinctive; it had outstanding crowd appeal; and it was a departure from the then all-too-common cadet style of uniform. It's still distinctive today; it still has tremendous crowd appeal; and it's still a departure from the cookie-cutter styles so common today. Perhaps even more important, however, is that when Hawthorne comes onto the field, nobody in the audience has to ask, "Who's that?" - as opposed to those corps who seem to change uniforms every couple of years. If one doesn't go to a contest for a year or two, then one has to refer to the program book to see "Who's that?" Andy
