Santa Clara Vanguard - '80s

It would require resurrecting Gail Royer ... IMO the greatest drum corps showman of all time.

Vanguard had an indelible sense of identity under GR's tenure which, while resurfacing briefly during Rick V's management, isn't nearly as strong or well defined today.

Not saying I don't love Vanguard, but they lost a bit of their soul without GR.

Perverted is good usually while you're actively engaged in it. The rest of the time it can be awkward. Also, it’s more an individual taste. You can do it in groups, but it’s hard to see how an entire corps could be perverted the same way.

I'd be happy if all the corps went back to the mid-90s.

Actually, that's not true. I'm happy with the way the corps are now. But if I had to witness any one era in drum corps over again, it would be from 92-99.

Edit - Add Dutch Boy back during the Sinatra shows also.

Yeah definitely want the spirit of late 70's and 80's again. But the "Spirit" kids still play "Georgia" today........
