Cavies Cadence

Bold = accent.

Bottom bass: 1 & a 2 & a 3 & a 4 & a | repeat

4th bass plays same thing but enters on beat two..

3rd on beat 3... 2 on 2 and top solos as stated.

I thought it was bassed on triplets.

Thanks for clarifying... Thats how I count triplets. 1 la li 2 la li sounds so elementary school, and TRI po let trip PO let tri po LET tri po let (pardon the hemiola :)) is a little difficult to vocally articulate for students to understand.

regardless.. yes the Iowa bass cadence is triplet based.

Thanks for clarifying... Thats how I count triplets. 1 la li 2 la li sounds so elementary school, and TRI po let trip PO let tri po LET tri po let (pardon the hemiola :)) is a little difficult to vocally articulate for students to understand.

I agree, but I've never known anyone to mistake the rhythm when using "1-la-li." If I start saying "1-&-a" they'd probably start thinking I meant "1-e-&-a", considering most of the percussionists I work with are relatively beginners, especially thoses I work with outside of the marching band.

with the claps.
