It's basically a toss-up after that. It says alot though that the most successful corps in the last 34+ years does not have one slot in the result. Too bad though. I really love the 1976, 1980, 1982, 1986, and 1988 shows.
Slow Adam
It says alot though that the most successful corps in the last 34+ yearsdoes not have one slot in the result. I don't think it says that much. If anything it's a testament to their consistency. It's hard to get on a list of this nature when +90% of your shows fall in positions 1, 2, or 3. contrajedi8
At first I was amazed that BD hasn't occupied a single one of those 12 slots on anyones list yet.....then I remembered that there are only a couple slots BD could be eligible for. Whoops. I don't think it says that much. If anything it's a testament to their consistency. It's hard to get on a list of this nature when +90% of your shows fall in positions 1, 2, or 3. Blue Devils= New York Yankees of drum corps. The corps that always wins and the corps that everybody loves to hate. And I love them for it. Meh. I'd say it's the CADETS who are more like the New York Yankees of drum corps. Long term championship level success that goes back decades (before the Blue Devils were ever formed), a controversial outspoken owner named George, and...as evidenced by the posts and discussions on DCP...the most talked about, debated, and discussed corps around which passion flows equally strong in both positive and negative ways. BRASSO
I think it's fair to say that in 10 years, none of the Corps from the 80's will be on this list, and in 20 years, none of the Corps from the 90's will be on this list, and in 30 years none of the corps from early 2000's will be on this list, and in........ well, you get the picture. Very True BD did not have any horses in the 12th, 11th, 10th, 8th, 7th and 6th races and only one in the 5th place race.
