GMichael1230 Posted August 8, 2009 Share Posted August 8, 2009 Very poor staging, way too long for visual and musical ideas to develop, pit to battery is dirty as sin and has been, hornline either plays too soft and you hear feet through the bells or they overblow and sound crass. Drill is just as dirty as the past few years and I feel like I've seen this show a million times in 20 years. Other than that ... they're great hmmm........ I must be turning into a Glammen Homer then. Intersting points, Ill have to take note when the DVD's come. Canr believe im not at finals this year. emc2 Posted August 8, 2009 Share Posted August 8, 2009 What I noticed about semi-finals:The Drum shows were much cleaner friday night-- every corps--except BD who was already clean (and they were a little worse). SCV was alot better, but still had some issues-- they had a couple bad attacks in the opening--then they had a "soft" phrase in the middle that was out--- but they nailed their solo impressively and then carried that emotion to the closer. The Cadets super nailed their show! They are just a hair from winning drums. So many good drum lines this year--playing tough books-- Boston Crusaders played a heck of a drum show friday-- after being pretty dirty Thursday Carolina Crown played the heck out of their show friday--made a noticeable improvement Phantom's snares-- spooky Boston yes they were great Thursday night also.
