lindap
Maybe this? imo Add the C with the arrow to the right of the image C <<< C. Keep the colour contrast as is. Maroon is fine; the gold needs to be a shade lighter, imo. If you can frame the logo with white border and a black line around the edge, it may provide a crisp and polished logo, imo. and consider how it can be transcribed to electronic device, paper or T-shirt. Good work, i like the design :-)
tommyfromhowardst
Ok, I will try some variations--give me a day or two.....
lindap
Ok, I will try some variations--give me a day or two..... My sig is where I marched in summer; 20 years winter guard is another story. On long bus trips I'd doodle in my travel book. My 72 doodle became our corps button and flag design. The 77 doodle became our flag. It has an 'a' and '7' on it. http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...t&p=2215981 My 86 doodles became a logo and program cover. http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...t&p=2236377 Keep doodling 'cause it's kinda neat what a doodle can do ;-)
perc2100
Amen!It would be like Phantom retiring the chevron or the Crossmen retiring the iron cross, or the Scouts retiring the fleur-de-lis. Or the Cavies retiring the great image of the cavalier they use so well. Those icons mentioned above are all icons that have lasted for decades (for some, half a century or more). The 'running man' logo is relatively new, maybe slightly more than one decade old. Plus, I don't think the 'running man' image is NEARLY as iconic as the ones you mentioned above, and I'm glad that Cadets are considering a new logo. Here's hoping it's a great one that is powerful and indicative enough to endure for decades.
perc2100
Maybe this? That seems pretty cool: simple, with a double meaning (I assume you designed the uniform look to also conform to the 'cross' type logo from the old school Holy Name logo: http://store.marchingstore.com/nehonacapa.html) It seems like a logo that's both modern and traditional. lindap
from the web site "Enter today! Cadets logo contest now underway Wednesday, September 9, 2009 Submissions will be taken until Sept. 14th" read page 1 of this thread and send asap! 6 days is kinda short for the creative process? when opportunity knocks, take it, quickly, it's worth it :-)
