TennTux
I had posted this on the "Guess Who" thread and it was suggested I post it here. (If the Mods could put these two together..) My post on DCP’s Guess Who thread (didn't know where I’m supposed to post this) http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...p;#entry2663580 Saturday 9/12/09, 02:39 PM Post #15581 My apologies for going "OT". I'm not sure where to post this on DCP.. Sad news... Emily Arietano I spoke with Nancy Arietano on the phone earlier this morning. (Sat, 9/12) John is in Florida, if I'm able to get any further details I'll post them here. (or where ever the correct place is) John Arietano's mom passed yesterday (Friday 9/11) morning in Florida. She has been ill for a while and passed from multiple organ failures. She passed peacefully with family and friends at her side. Our prayers and sincere condolences go out to John, his friends and entire family. Emily Arietano's services will be held on Monday (9/14/09) at the: BOBBITT FUNERAL CHAPEL 7820 38TH AVE N Saint Petersburg, FL 33710-1108 Funeral Home Profile 727.822.2059 http://www.fsnfuneralhomes.com/funeral-home-flowers/5923 The family has requested instead of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice. My apologies again... I didn't know where it "should" go.... I could have posted this on ANY thread on ANY of the DCP boards and everyone would post their condolences. (I think everyone knows who John "Screech" Arietano is even if they've never personally met him. (WDCHOF, Class of 1996 - SUN HOF, Class of 2001 - PaDCHOF - BHoF, Class of 2005) That I know of, three corps have won seven DCA (now Open Class) titles playing John Arietano's arrangements: Sunrisers: 1977, 1978, 1982, 1983 (Arranger of the 1976 Sunriser "bicentennial" tribute) Caballeros: 1984, 1985 Westshoremen: 1996 And the NY Skyliners have won two DCA Class A titles playing this guy's music: 1999, 2002 Marched with the Bucs in 2003 Soprano, Brass Staff/Instructor, Music Arranger... If anyone knows where it should be posted please do...
