Dir_en_X
I liked using the showers in giants stadium....which came equipped with shampoo / body wash dispensers. If you cupped your hand just right, you could get a huge glob of the stuff in it, and with a flick of the wrist, launch it into an unsuspecting victim. My favorite was to nail somebody right AFTER they got out, and were dried off Though what's worse, that or a well-placed snap of a towel? 84BDsop
Just think....after a season or so of drum corps, you'll be ALL ready for married life....'cause nothing says being comfortable with your spouse like her waling into the bathroom to do her teeth while you're dropping a load and not batting an eye!! cymbalgoddess57
My first audition camp for the 2008 season i was REALLY freaked out about the showering thing. So i too had the bright idea of "getting up earlier than everyone else", but going to bed ad 12:30ish then taking an hour or so away from sleeping is not the best plan of attack. I found that out really quick. First of all your already more tired than you have ever been before due to the physically and mentally strenuous rehearsals, so losing any bit of sleep will come back to bite you in the butt...SOOOOO the point of this long tangent is yea it's kinda weird at first, but everyone's practically naked on the field during tour anyway, so just relax, and "just do it" you'll get used to it faster than you think. and believe me, you DON'T want to be the smelly kid, we tend to avoid them at ALL costs! cymbalgoddess57
Actually, there's another aspect of drum corps showers that I miss - they were so open! Just about all of the showers we used were basically big open rooms with showerheads, which gave you plenty of room to move around and wash (unless, of course, it was packed with people...). Here in college, we have tiny stalls that are so cramped you have to be an acrobat to rinse anything below your waist Plus with open showers you can have an epic sing-along or play games like HUMAN BOWLING!!!!!!!! John Murray
I can think of at least 4 or 5 times where i found the showers by listenning for the screaming. I also remember one time staying at the show site in 2006, when I was literally the last one in the shower, still naked (it was a locker facility seperate from the school), and the judges for the show came in to drop off their stuff / use the bathroom. Just a little awkward.....*Judges, are you watching???* This thread has been the provider of lulz, and I found this post to be especially chucklesome. Elmo Blatch
Nothing, and I mean nothing, will prepare you for the phrase "double up."
Dave
Or the ever more popular "Triple up!"
