So.....the year that is missing from the bunch is 2002 because two corps tied for 5th place (Boston Crusaders and Phantom Regiment, score of 92.4).....

We are breaking into the top 6 for the first time, so things are really tightening down as far as great corps, shows, etc....

Here are the winners thus far:

Best 12th Place Corps of the 2000s - Troopers 2009

Best 11th Place Corps of the 2000s - Madison Scouts 2001

Best 10th Place Corps of the 2000s - Carolina Crown 2003

Best 9th Place Corps of the 2000s - Crossmen 2002

Best 8th Place Corps of the 2000s - Blue Stars 2009

Best 7th Place Corps of the 2000s - Bluecoats 2007

Best 6th Place Corps of the 2000s - ??????????????????

6th place is pretty weak in my opinion.

06 Vanguard.

Argh! Now we enter the really tough area...

First 01 Regiment...ungodly middles in the opener...a nice take on Festive Overture for the closer (almost made me forget 85 SCV), and one of the best show endings ever.

Then there's 06 SCV...Mr. Moto alone makes this....along with a great opening statement and #####in' closer drill.

But my vote must go to 07 Crown. In an era where so much music sounds like "Sonata for Obelisk in Q# Minor" Crown presented a spectacular collection of MUSIC, storytelling like none we saw for years before, a stellar horn line, etc. My fave show from 07....even over my Blue Devils' winner.

i was wavering between these two. after a short, but fierce internal debate, Tommy Feagin wins out.

Tough one between SCV 06 and Crown 07, but I went with Crown
