When did Cavaliers play Pinball Wizard? I thought it was Blue Devils...

well, guessing that you are trying to address the top 12, probably more specifically top 6:

I'll guess a)=PR; b) thanks=Cav c)=BD d)=Cadets e)=SCV f)=thanks Madison

Outside shot:

a)=Colts & c)=Bluecoats

That's what I think, but I didn't start listening to corps till the 70's.

Nope; just saying that the artistic identity of a corps changes over time that is all.

Well, if the judging sheets change, the instrumentation useage changes, Corps Directors change, the show design staff changes, the fan base changes, the make up of the Corps changes, the time on the field changes, the Guards change, where the Corps primarily is located changes, and so forth, why would anyone be surprised if likewise the " artistic indentity" of that Corps would likewise change over time ? ... Hello ?.. Of course it would.

Could not have said it any better; this list is just for fun considering the Squinting thread is so concerned about various corps losing their identities.

Thought this would be a fun diversion from all the serious discussion about corps identities; but with only a few participants apparently I was wrong.

Correct answers:

a) Phantom Regiment (The classical corps?)

b) The Cavaliers (The innovative corps?)

c) Blue Devils (The big jazz corps?)

d) The Cadets (The push the envelope corps?)

e) Santa Clara Vanguard (The Rolls Royce of DCI?)

f) Madison Scouts (the loud in your face jazz corps?)
