Crown would be the feel good story of the year if they win.

I'll be happy if either Crown or Cadets wins with a preference for Cadets.

Actually, I think Crown is at the point now where it'll be 50/50 "feel good" general comments no matter where they place if it's in the top 3. That's the price of being one of the big dogs...ask BD, Cavies, Cadets.....

If they win people will go nuts and be happy about it just like with Phantom in 2008 if not more so since Phantom had won before. Even people who didn't like Phantom's show in 2008 were pulling for them to beat BD on finals night just because it was something new.

I don't think you are one of the big dogs in that context until you consistently place in the top 3-4 and take home a championship or two. Just look at Phantom, they won 2 years ago and didn't make your list of big dogs because they couldn't keep up the consistency this year.

Because of this I fully expect Crown to be the DCP darlings once again this year

This should be every drum corps fans mantra...we know someone will win...and it should be the best corps as judged...but that is so totally out of our hands. Awesome shows are far more likely to help keep drum corps around for the future than any particular winner...

It is possible to want a certain corps to win and also want a bunch of awesome shows.

It isn't like the two are mutually exclusive.

For me it was Cavies, Star, and then Cadets. Later it became Cavies, Cadets.

Now, it's Cavies, Crown, Cadets, then SCV.

I still love Cadets, too.
