SFZFAN
My guess is Troopers, Glassmen. BK, although they will be good. Honestly - Everyone will be good. Just not in the top 12.
BozzlyB
Hard to say. REALLY not convinced at this point that Colts are a part of the top 12 equation, but I guess we'll see. I agree Madison is very likely (refuse to say anyone is a lock for anything on week 1) to make finals, probably even better than 12th. With that said I think Troopers are the most likely to suffer the addition of Madison to the top 12. Troopers were great last year but we're really not close to 11th IMO, and the corps that beat them are likely to remain if only one new addition to top 12 happens this year. I've heard nothing from Colts, Academy, Spirit, Crossmen, etc to date that makes me think they are a threat for Finals .
Krista
I have no insight, because I haven't seen anyone yet. But I just wanted to point out that every year without fail, folks pick Glassmen and Blue Knights -- more than just about any other corps -- as corps that will fall out of the top 12. And every year, they don't.Not saying they will or won't, but they certainly always seem to be most everyone's Failcorps. lol having marched one of the Fail-corps, I agree. But hey - it's ok. you just get up, do what you do, and keep going. ;)

As of yet, they haven't had anything to be judged off of. I can understand people already forming opinions on corps that have already performed, as for those that haven't...its kind of silly to me. I understand Madison is the shoo in for finals because of the awesome staff and throwback show but does the talent stand up to the top twelve? Idk about this year. Honestly if I had to pick two to be out, it would be Glassmen and Troopers and I'd put Madison in 11th and Colts/Academy in 12th. I've always said I'd love to see new faces in the top twelve. I was happy with Blue Stars pushing the barriers into the top 10. I'm hoping a few more of these corps that are trying hard to get in..do. Could you imagine a top twelve that include Colts, Troopers, Crossmen, and Madison.... a guy can dream
myopinion
I found this topic interesting so I did a little research. The following are all the current world corps with their first placement in DCI and how many times each have "fallen" out of the top 12 since 1972 when DCI was formed. Academy- haven't made finals yet Blue Devils- 1974- 9th ---haven't fallen since Blue Knights- 1991- 9th ---1995, 2001, 2002, 2003 Bluecoats- 1987 11th --- 1999 Blue Stars- 1972 2nd--- 1980-2007 Boston- 1999 9th ---haven't fallen since Cadets- 1975 11th--- 1976, 1978, 1979 Crown- 1995 11th --- 2002 Cascades- 2002 12th--- 2003-2009 Cavies- 1972 9th--- 1973, 1978 Colts- 1993 12th--- 1997, 2000, 2002-2006, 2008-2009 Crossmen- 1977 11th--- 1979 1983, 1985-1988, 2005-2009 Glassmen- 1993 11th --- 1996, 2003 Surf- haven't made finals yet Madison- 1973 4th---2002, 2007, 2009 Mandarins- haven't made finals yet Pacific Crest- haven't made finals yet Phantom- 1974 11th--- haven't fallen since Pioneer- haven't made finals yet Vanguard- 1972 3rd- haven't fallen since Spirit- 1978 6th --- 1989, 1991-2001, 2004, 2008-2009 Teal Sound- haven't made finals yet Troopers- 1972 6th--- 1976-1978, 1980, 1982-1984, 1987-2008 Edited June 25, 2010 by myopinion

Having seen Crossmen show, I'd say its a crowd favourite, a Crossmen Alumni favorite, but that doesnt equal judge's favourite. I feel confident tacking another 20 points on to whatever they come out with, the show is bare bones. I stated I believe BK will leave top 12 based on their downward trajectory the last couple years, especially since Blue Stars jumped out and knocked out Spirit. Also I dont believe BK is keeping the same vet retention rates as other top 12 corps, speaking on the experience of several BK alumni I know who did 1 year there before going top 6. It seems BK is almost a halfway point between feeder corps and G7. Gmen, I wouldnt believe dropping out of top 12 anytime soon, they seem to be a steady corps. I cant think of any other corps with as many near knock outs [of top 12] as gmen. They're the Rocky Balboa of DCI, always gonna gt back up and throw fists. Might not be glamorous and can sometimes get ugly, but they always pull through. Troop, I can agree with them having to fight to keep it. Last years program was one of those once in a blue moon. I dont believe Wanted will be as iconic and unique, but a high vet retention and a solid staff will keep them up in the pack. At least until they head east and the West Coast inflation thing wears off. Coming into the world cup Spain's national team had held a 3yr undefeated record. Broken only twice once during a friendly match against Romanian, and against team USA for the confederation cup. They came into the World cups favoured to win, but lost they're first game. AGAINST SWITZERLAND?! Now they're fighting just to make into out of the group stage. Anything can happen. edit to add Futbol[soccer]-ness Edited June 25, 2010 by KeepItReal

Pinwiz
It's the first week. You can't even remotely start making a decision. You just look foolish. We'll know more after this weekend, and then only based on the apparent quality of the shows.
TomVV
Also forgot the Blue Stars. First made finals at the first DCI championships in 1972, placing 2nd. Along with Santa Clara Vanguard, they were the only two corps to make every DCI finals in the 70's. olue Stars were Out of finals from 1980-2007, although they won several Div III crowns during that time. Back in finals 2008-2009 (so far). Amazing story. ---tom edit: uh-oh. Dave beat me to it... I found this topic interesting so I did a little research.
