geez Judge Gilley......... really ? Im questioning reasoning

Yeah, comparing past guard scores for all corps there tonight, even seeing that wind was an issue, most corps had negligible point change (some slightly up, some slightly down) but BS took a huge hit in CG tonight. That point (at least) drop (which really looks like a fluke when you look at other scores) is worth a half point or more at least going forward.

I like how Crown wins 1 Ott Trophy and they are "the" hornline to beat and they must have had an off night to lose to Bluecoats...

Last time I checked, Bluecoats essentially won Brass in 07 until semifinals, so they have as much right and talent to be there as anyone. I still think you need to unseat "the" perennial Ott winner, BD, for more than one season before you get too cocky....

I personally think it will be between BD and Bluecoats by season end, with Crown in a real close 3rd, IMO. But hey, I have no biases towards any of them so I don't really care as long as they all play great!

FWIW: BD 17.8 in Brass tonight. Still high number...

The thing I really like about tonight's recap (for Bluuuuue) is that there were several judges on the panel that will most likely be judging championships...and they had Blue on top!

Interesting observation. Could be the tide turning as Bluecoats hit Texas; those are practically home shows for those kids.

Said something to a crown friend after the Akron show- they called it a fluke- trying to think of something clever to say back now...

A) that whole "fluke" thing happened again

B) you forgot to tell the bluecoats that last time was only a fluke

C) is is still a fluke if it happens more than once?

Also- because I might not be able to say this again:

you were wrong, Bruckner!!
