bass5
At this point in time, the synchronization rights to "Empire State of Mind" have not been secured. The Madison Scouts have secured the ability to arrange and perform the piece, but the sale of synchronized video content has not yet been granted and DCI has appropriately decided to mute the replay content on the Fan Network to avoid any possible infringement at this time. This does not affect the broadcasts of live performances, only the replay of them. We have been furiously trying to resolve this issue for over 7 months. Due to the popularity of the piece and the numerous artists involved in its creation, it has proven to be vary challenging. Let's just say that drum corps licensing is not a high priority for the agencies involved with a pop tune like ESOM. We are continuing to aggressively secure a license and we appreciate your patience as we work through these matters. Chris Komnick Executive Director Thanks Chris. I noticed the long list of artists involved in ESOM in the Whitewater program. p.s. I bet you'll be happy to see Dann today.
thirdcoast
I was checking a couple days ago - looks like there are still lots of tickets available. You can easily find this on dci.org. Just look up the event, go to the little ticket icon, and you can pull up the ticket availability with the actual stadium seating. Thanks! WarriorHal
Back to the field... Scouts are currently topping Boston, Blue Stars, Bluecoats and SCV on the scoreboard and even edged Regiment by .2 last night. I know scores from different contests aren't necessarily comparable. Different judges, different opinions ect. But the criteria is supposed to be the same, so nevertheless, it's interesting. The question is, are the Scout's really good enough to jump from #10 to #6 or even #5 in just one year?

Many on here said there was NO WAY Scouts make finals last year. lol They were more than happy to make sure we knew our place. Many of those same say Top 6 is a pipe dream. Which drastically improves the odds, IMO.
skywhopper
I think top 6 is easily within reach of Madison this year. Maybe not top 3. I'm betting 5-6 if they keep cleaning.

Just an honest question from a non-Madison alum- not meant with any disrespect: What are your (BMMM, BRASSO, etc) actual predictions for Madison this year at finals-- Say you had $1,000 on the line and you had to bet now-- where do you think they will actually end up? (as opposed to the "where they COULD end up which everyone seems to be answering on here) Its as if you are saying that anyone who thinks they won't place 6th or better is mistaken-- where would you put your money? I'll play first-- I think I'd put my money on 8th. Maybe 9th If stars step up big . (which I hope is clear to everyone that I'm giving Madison credit for stepping up over last year- Not being negative)
