Michael Boo
They call themselves marching members. Including the members of the front ensemble? Do they all still think of themselves in those terms? Edited February 10, 2011 by Michael Boo
corpsband
I'm guessing that's a guard thing, maybe even just a BK guard thing. I'd never heard of "cast members" either until I saw that post on DCI. I think it's mostly a winterguard thing. Not uncommon to see the that term on various WG websites. First time I've heard it used for a DC guard.
CrownStarr
Including the members of the front ensemble? Do they all still think of themselves in those terms? We do, but we say it with a healthy amount of irony. Either that or we refer to ourselves as standing members, and talk about what drum corps we've all stood in.

fsubone
Members? Kids? Young adults? Musicians? Artists? Students? Brothers and Sisters? Family?
charlie1223
Maybe they picked it up from Disney, where everyone from the guy who greets you in that creepy elevator room at the Haunted House to the lady who waters the plants is considered a "cast member." Fred O. I actually really like the idea of Disney calling their employees that. Makes it sound really authentic!

mckdan
When I marched we called ourselves "Troopers". I'm sure that there are Devils and Cavies and Scouts out there too.
