mobrien Posted June 12, 2011 Share Posted June 12, 2011 Some nice new finishes this year, though it's sort of interesting to see how many stained/lacquered fades are out there now. Something in the drum corps water, I'd guess. Of those we've seen so far, I'm a fan of Troops' the most, though Cavaliers' color should really pop too. I might be wrong, but in thinking back over the years, I think this is the first time since 1972 they've had actual green in the snares (there were tiny green flecks in the 02-03 drums, but not enough to read). 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The hat that bass 3 is wearing was the bass hat in '09 and '10, and it may still be, but I would guess not because the bass section leader (bass 4) is wearing the umbrella hat. So, in conclusion, I think the umbrella hats are the (sub)section hats. Also, I don't geek out over drum colors unless they don't work, but I haven't been disappointed by any of these yet. I like all of them. Obviously I need to know Crown's uniform to know if it will clash, though. Also, not sure about SCV based on the already mentioned complaint of the brightness.
