camel lips
OK, I'll play: Open Class 1. Minnesota Brass 2. Buccaneers 3. Statesmen 4. Caballeros 5. Hurricanes 6. CorpsVets 7. Alliance 8. Kilties 9. Renegades 10. TBT --------------------------- 11. Bushwackers I feel pretty confident in 1-5 but who knows. The first note has not been played on the field yet. This is all for fun right???? I think 6-7 could go either way. CV and Alliance jockeyed for position all last year back and forth. CV traditionally comes out strong out the gate where Alliance cleans up better towards the end. Its all in how efficient the two corps work this season and how well recruiting went during the off season. I think both corps will be a little leaner in numbers from the information I have compiled on both of the corps. Same could be said for Kilties and Renegades. You could see a swap in the numbers there too. I feel pretty solid about 10th and 11th. Again this is all in fun. No one get all pissy.

ExcelsiorDBC
Let me be the first then..... I think it should be expected that one would get "Pissy" as you put it. What purpose does this type of post have so early in the season? I personally find it quite ignorant to place a corps before anyone gets to see the corps (including the poster most likely). What could you possibly base your assessment on? Smaller corps find it hard enough to "make it" without some knucklehead discouraging members before the season even begins. Larger, established corps that are trying to make a run at the top may feel the same way. I find nothing fun about it at all. I find it rude and insulting to the members that are trying to make their corps as good as possible. If groups have members who decided their season is over because of a handful of people online guessing at where things will end up, then maybe this activity is too tough for them. Honestly, I were a member and people counted my group out, I would be more fired up to prove them wrong. Playing the dark horse is more fun than the "chosen child." Personally, I think it is pointless to make a "prediction" after the competition. You don't have to make a prediction... so we will continue having fun. To be honest, the main reason I started this thread was to bring a little life to the forum. It was getting a little boring around here. I will be sure to take away the comment that was in my original post that said "if you are not ranked first in someone's prediction, give up now." - Sorry for the rant... and I probably should not have responded.
DCA1Fan
It seems that lately, the MOST excitement is generated by the announcements of: Class A: "In FIFTH place.............." Open Class: "In ELEVENTH place........." and "The DCA South Champions........." The LEAST excitement has been: Open Class: ".....and the DCA INTERNATIONAL Champions......." and "The DCA OPEN CLASS CHAMPIONS......." The most shocking (non) announcement was when announcing Hurcs score and forgetting to mention "best honor guard" until later. I'm actually quite interested to see if this is the first year one (or more) of the Class A corps score well enough to break into the top 10...or, if they do indeed earn a spot, if the judges will give them the number that reflects it! With only 11 Open corps, Carolina, Fusion, Govies, or another stand-out Class A corps may be able to break into the top 10 if the show is excellent and the powers that be allow it!
