For most of this week we have had partial judging panels with some judging scoring captions that they do not specialize in.....until we get full panels the scores are not relevant. I feel that once a full panel is in effect the Blue Stars will jump in score and ranking.

Oh, they are relevant bye golly. Don't all these early shows give us the placement at say...MINN. The sun may be out when they go on. Every show is important.

Maybe an overlooked thing when looking at the big picture of the show...but I do want to mention this detail. This corps has some serious potential, if not already realized potential to groove. i think it could be the 2000"s version of the early 90s Crossmen groove in battery,,,,But with techno/club beats. The w Matrix tunes...it has the club /techno feel, that I think they could really exploit into something cool. The drums are laying those beats down, with some enhancement from the electronics. I am really enjoying these moments. Seeing it in the theater, I felt they were laying off the groove a bit, particularly at the end of the opener, and somewhat during the third movement...Over time though, I think we could see those portions of the show get more relaxed..and,,,more entertaining.

I mentioned Crossmen early 90s earlier. That's what the corps feel like to me, Entertaining crowd favorites, who may occasionally knock off traditional Top 6 corps during tour. but for some reason, no matter how entertaining the show, they never seem to place where we might want them to at Finals. I think this show has some great entertainment value and will be a show fans remember for years.

At the risk of being all bando here, I'd like to remind everyone that this (along with their crazy-hard drill) is exactly what made Tarpon Springs' similar show a couple years ago so great. Of course, they had a DJ and an electric drum set instead of a battery, so that automatically invalidates their artistry in the eyes of 90% of DCP posters.
