Very possibly. Hopkins will be driving the bus, and onboard will be some of the "demons". "We're coming to take you home, Geoffrey! We're coming to take you home!"

I think the OP's point (and mostly one that I agree with) is that most corps have lost their identity. Even when I marched (which is getting further away as you read this), the corps were unique and distinct and were not interchangeable. In today's corps world, I feel the corps have become very homogenized to the point that you could put most of the top 12 in the same uniform and, except for the different execution levels, not be able to tell who is who. It's something that definitely bothers me. It's mostly musical, but it's still noticeable.

there is a huge diference in corps identities changing vs. drum corps losing it's soul

Drum Corps lost its could when all corps decided to play progressive symphonic music with lots of dark & dissonant chords...& waaaay too many notes. No longer did corps have their own identity. Some used to play jazz, some used to play classical, some used to play show tunes, some used to play british, some played Scottish, Some played Spanish, some played western, & some were just plain goofy, like Bayonne & VK. If I listened to the top 20 corps today & you held a gun to my head, I could only identify the Madison Scouts. Drum Corps needs design & style diversity...badly.
