Plymouth Hometown concert

What a shame that the Standish Guards aren't even performing in their own home town. This event used to be a great showcase for the "local" corps...this year, less than half the lineup is from New England.

Does Standish Guard have a horn line?

Last I knew they were just percussion.

They're in the process of recruiting ... here's an announcement from April on DCP:

The Standish Guards from Plymouth MA will be having a new member/open house on April 17th from 1-3pm at the VFW Post 1822, 22 Seven Hills Rd Plymouth. We will have a short presentation of what we would like to achieve this year, our percussion ensemble will play, hopefully some guest players and of course tasty snacks! We currently have a small but eager drumline that would love to hear from some brass players in the hope that we can have a mini-corps to compete at this years' DCA Championships in Rochester. So if you live near Plymouth and would like to help us out come on down and say hi. If you are going to be at Bridgeport for the Bugler's Hall of Fame show come on over and introduce yourself, we would love to talk! No matter how many members we have we will be going to Rochester, our goal is to be a competitive corps no matter what it takes. We have also been forunate to have Aquarian Drumheads as our first endorser. Hope to see you there!

Weather forcast is for mid 50s, great day for a parade. The crowds are excellent and there are so many groups in this parade (including 9 drum corps) it's worth the trip.

Hope to see everyone in Plymouth.

It'll be great if this forecast holds up. We all know a lot can change in a week's time, but we're keeping our fingers crossed. Looking forward to next week. It's always such a great time.

At the Saturday concert, the Caballeros Alumni will honor the memory of their recently deceased former drum major, Ralph Silverbrand. It promises to be a very special moment for us and the audience.

That will be nice to see. Ralph is a legend for sure in this activity.

Weather is going to be great. Partly Cloudy High 56°F

Huge parade that is only 90 minutes long and 9 drum corps at night in a very intimate venue. Come on down, have some lobsta, have a drink at your seat watching drum corps, Alumni corps are so much fun!!!!

Fours days to go, and the forecast is still looking good -- partly to mostly sunny and a high temp of 58 degrees. Promises to be another great Plymouth weekend experience.

The tribute to Ralph Silverbrand will come at the end of our performance. We have confirmed that at least one of Ralph's daughters will attend, with the possibility of another as well. Ralph also had many friends from the Princemen and Reilly Raiders, many of whom are due to be there. I hope they get to witness the memorial tribute. It will be a special moment to end the evening.
