Favorite 2011 Show

Simple Question.

For discussion purposes. why?

Crown, because I thought the drum book was excellent, it had a neat twist of sophistication and plain cheese, and the whole production just *worked.* I didn't spend a whole of time dissecting it while I watched; I just went "hah!" and "whoa!" and "cool!"

Madison - because it was by far the most entertaining, and although they may have been a bit weak in some captions they got the best crowd response of any other corps.

Cadets.

A.) 'Cause I'm part homer.

B.) 'Cause I'm not afraid to admit it.

C.) 'Cause I can't remember them getting a reaction at finals like that since 2000.

D.) 'Cause the closer gives me chills and makes me wanna throw babies while driving.

This was a tough one. Really liked Cadets and Crown but went with Phantom. That little "Elsa's" ditty gets me every time!

tough call between pr and cadets

For the first time in years I loved every one of the top ten shows.

Each for a different reason.

Can't remember a better year for a top ten.

I'm obviously a PR homer, but I picked Cadets because they had a little bit of everything I liked this year.....drama, style, visual, style, intensity, style.

Everyone of the top ten had at least one thing they did better than other corps (but perhaps not by much), but Cadets had the best 'package deal' -

So far this shows Bluecoats wasnt a hit like previous years.

I picked Cadets for the totality of the show they presented...one of my all time faves already from them.

However, PR comes a close second, due to the closer...

Blue Devils:

1. Fabulous music, amazing guard, one of the best horn lines I've ever heard.

2. Because my kid had the best summer of his life marching this show, and being a dad is MY favorite show of any summer.
