ozarkbugler
I love VK's rendition! VK's was good but it was the visual interpretation that kicked arse.
hostrauser
As much as I like all of Madison's versions, chalk me up for Cadets 2003.
Kevin Doherty
Happy New Year All, Definitely a DC classic. The composer is Ernesto Lecuano. Even though I'm not a Wiki fan, I'll do it anyway for a quick, perhaps (maybe not) accurate history. The jazz version that DC relies on is the Stan Kenton arrangement of December 1961 by Bill Holman. It appears on Adventures in Jazz. (I have it in my hand-had it in vinyl for many years, latest CD from Amazon) Have heard many versions, but Madison 1980 and Cadets 2003 are favorites. Best regards DC Friends. Keep it positive. Kevin

Kevin Doherty
Sorry folks. I'm not following where this thread is going. What minus? I don't see one. Who cares anyway? One is entitled to one's opinion as long as it doesn't harm anyone, but I saw no negatives on this thread. Am I missing something?
