But I think the brass played better in 82 87 over 00.........Come on y'all that voted for 2000, 87 was one of those drum corps "game changers" I think its my favorite show of all time and I hope it wins this bracket 90 over 03.........90 is not one of Cadets most exciting championship years but they performed it very well and very clean. 83 over 05........the biggest game changer of them all. Drum corps changed after this show. Drill movement for one 98 over 85......tough call, but went with the age out year and the handle name on this one. IMHO, the best marching drum corps ever. 93 over 07......this was probably the toughest call of them all because I also really like that 07 show.....even having second thoughts at the moment. oh well. 11 over 10......no brainer 84 over 89......as much as I want to vote for the people's choice, cult-classic 89 show, I just can't vote against that great hornline, great show concept, entertainment that was 84. hostrauser Posted March 18, 2012 Share Posted March 18, 2012 09 over 82 (not big on either of these shows, but the level of difficulty and execution is so much better in 09) 00 over 87 (00 is one of my Top 10 all time DCI shows; 87 SCV was better than 87 Cadets in every way EXCEPT percussion; the inability of the percussion judges to manage spread have led people to confuse a great drum line with being a great show) 90 over 03 (what the poster above said: "couldn't pick 03 even though I like it" 1990 is just a better show) 83 over 05 (real tough decision, but despite its execution 05 didn't revolutionize "how drum corps was done" like 83 did) 98 over 85 (I like 85's music better, but 98 is the best visual performance, drill and guard, in DCI history IMO) 93 over 07 (07 was great... for the six minutes they played; and yes, I still argue that 93 Cadets were better than 93 Star) 11 over 10 (This was really tough for me, because I loved 2010's music far more than 2011) 84 over 89 (94 had better execution; 84 has better effect; combine the two and stop playing WSS forever) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

fsubone Posted March 22, 2012 Share Posted March 22, 2012 My Round 3 choices went 2000 over 2009 (duh, sorry, the Disney shows wins every time) 2005 over 1990 (The Zone was the first Cadets show I saw, and was blown away) 1985 over 1993 (Going for the three-peat, and still wish Star won in 93) 1984 over 2011 (As good as Angels v. Demons was, WSS is still the classic) The next round will be scary tough, getting down to Classic Cadets shows. (still think 1989 should have made it through....) I agree with all of your picks, but personally found the 85 versus 93 choice the most difficult.
