I'm fairly sure that either a) drum corps rookies CAN be in the snare line and what I heard was rubbish (or misunderstood) or b) Cadets don't typically take drum corps rookies in the battery but will make an exception if the player is outstanding and mature (i.e. Cadets' staff aren't worried he'll flake) Edited May 30, 2012 by perc2100 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jjeffeory Posted May 30, 2012 Share Posted May 30, 2012 FWIW I'm also from OH, and I remember discussions in high school when myself or other drum corps fanatics would impatiently correct not-so-big drum corps fans when they too would refer to Cavaliers as 'Cavs.' We'd always come back with "Cavs are in Cleveland, Cavaliers or Cavies are the drum corps." I get that; I was mostly being facetious It's all good... We're all just trying to have some good clean fun... That's why we're here and not somewhere else... I remember that BD didn't get their new drums in '07 until June, so they did some exhibitions with the old blue and black godfather drums.
