jjeffeory
The only tradition worth having, is a tradition of excellence? Why or why not? No, it's also important to know where we come from.. It is also important to create and possess a sense of community, commonality, and continuance.

Do you think that in an effort to hold on to traditions from the past, we endanger our futures because it makes us less adaptable?
corpsband
Do you think that in an effort to hold on to traditions from the past, we endanger our futures because it makes us less adaptable? Traditions don't have to be "on the performance field". There's lots of room for tradition *outside* of performances.

Agreed, but I also see that every facet of the corps experience alters the final product.

corpsband
Agreed, but I also see that every facet of the corps experience alters the final product. Hmmm...not sure I'll 100% agree with that. And in any case -- even if I did I agree -- not all of those alterations are necessarily negative. Many experiences away from the performance field can *improve* the final product.
