It is well performed, but there are 20 shows I enjoy a little bit more. To me however, it speaks very highly of some of the other corps performing who don't always get the recognition, who have awesome shows this year. I am really surprised that Jersey Surf, Spirit of Atlanta, Bluecoats and Boston Crusaders are 4 of my top 5 favorite shows this year. But the staff in these corps have really put together some amazing shows. And if you would have told me I would like 9 corps better than the Cavaliers, I would have also been very surprised. I love the Cavaliers show this year, but there are 9 shows that I like better this year. MartinO Posted July 25, 2012 Share Posted July 25, 2012 My top five for this year: 1) Santa Clara Vanguard (tie) - An exercise in subtleties no other corps achieves, both in music and drill 1) Phantom Regiment (tie) - THE emotional show of the year 3) Madison Scouts - Never fail to entertain, the swagger is back. 4) Carolina Crown - Performance level of the year - Challenging themselves in ways the Blue Devils don't approach 5) Jersey Surf - The most pure fun in a drum corps show this year Honorable mentions to Cadets, Bluecoats, Spirit, Crossmen, and Academy Kudos to Spirit as the most improved corps of the year.
