soccerguy315 Posted January 22, 2013 Share Posted January 22, 2013 Not to get into a pissing match, but the Infamous Powerpoint Proposal or the Most Recent Email didn't cause Teal to fold or Glassmen to take a year off. I'm not arguing that the G7 have the answers, because they certainly don't (and even admit as much). But obviously the current state of DCI isn't an environment that's engendering growth either. I'm not sure that you can lay Teal and Glassmen at the feet of Hopkins, et al. when they're not even on the board. Here's hoping SoundSport and Drumline Battle do.... something. I agree with you that there are issues with the current DCI environment and long term viability... but I feel very strongly that what the G7 is currently pushing is not the answer. I'd like to hear both sides present their vision. I'd like to see the details in plain, clear English. if you think Hopkins can write in plain, clear English, I have a bridge to sell you... I'm not on board with what the G7 are proposing either. But I think DCI needs to come out with something much more than SoundSport and Drumline Battle if they're going to assert that they have what it takes to make sure the activity is sustainable. I see those ideas as long term, which is certainly a good thing to sow seeds. But I'm sure we'd all agree that some more immediate ideas are needed.
