KeithHall
This is a great idea! BTW....the announcement was very clear “With a rapidly growing, passionate, informed, talented and engaged fan base throughout the world, and strategic alliances already in place with marching music associations in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Korea and Thailand, new opportunities are developing at a breathtaking pace,” said DeNovi. “Combined with the existing awareness and presence of the drum corps activity throughout Europe, Asia, South Africa, South America and beyond, our goal is to create another avenue to unite the world through music and performance, to promote teamwork and the pursuit of excellence, and to have a heck of a lot of fun in the process.” Also, There is still one corps left in NY...White Sabres! Yea!
Donny Drum Corps
Good point Keith. I am not trying to take away from the value of this endeavor. I taught kids from South Africa at Pioneer. They are great kids and have an idea of what to do. Good luck to this approach. I think that it is great that we can reach out this way. Enough about the mini corps at DCA. This doesnt seem to be the same thing. Sorry to hijack the thread. DA

Jeff Ream
Believe me Jeff...we tried to get some consistency within the way we would be judged and sheets, etc., but we were turned away. The company line was that it was part of the Friday night festivities, and that is all they wanted it to be. No one can truthfully deny that wqas the case. Kevin Hassan, on the other hand has been approachable in this regard. He has listened to these concerns, and may be able to do something about it. Don Mercurio, I have no idea what you are talking about. DA Well.....In some ways, I can't blame them......their gig is Saturday and Sunday. DCA was never set up to be all things for all groups ( right Shadow?)

TomPeashey
And Sunrisers. Assuming Long Island is still part of New York. :tongue:/> I congratulate all NY corps that have managed to survive... and YES Fran, those of us in the REAL NY State still accept Long Island as part of us... however, no offense to Excelsior, we have serious doubts about the communist states of New York City and Albany... lol Just kidding... hold the letters... MiniSopGuy
So with SoundSport being open to all ages, I wonder if Star United is going to jump in on it for another competitive outlet for their program. Or if they will stop doing Mini Corps at DCA I&E all together. Edited January 23, 2013 by MiniSopGuy
Donny Drum Corps
Well.....In some ways, I can't blame them......their gig is Saturday and Sunday. DCA was never set up to be all things for all groups ( right Shadow?) So we can now have NO shows in upstate NY because there are no corps to have shows with? As I said, I am not going to let a narrow minded Jeff Ream get the best of me on birthday and ruin this thread. DA
