BRASSO
Okay, next question. Imagine there is a corps that sat out at least one season of competition, came back, sat out again, came back, sat out AGAIN, came back a third time... and after all that, made DCI finals for the first time. Is there such a corps, and if so, name them. (Of course, if there were no such corps, why would I ask?) I usually cringe when I hear that such and such Corps has " decided to take a year off " for some reason. While we do see some of these Corps returning, the statistics overall are not on their side. Michael Boo
Jodeen's brother-in law was Hank Grana, and her daughter, Paula marched with Velvet Knights, Anaheim Kingsmen and Troopers. Paula later married Steve Beard, and she both marched with and taught the Blue Devils. Ah, thanks; that would be it. I knew Hank, who was one of our prestige M&M (Visual) judges. Many may not know he's Marie Czapinski's brother. Hank owned a printing company in a near north Chicago suburb and he printed up our corps yearbooks when I was getting my start in writing with them. cixelsyd
Oh, this might help. All three periods of withdrawal from field competition took place in the DCI era.

I know of the 1st corps to do it after sitting out 2 seasons (1979 & 1983) is the Bluecoats and I believe they were the first corps to have folded twice and then made finals I would guess that the corps you are refferring to is the Cascades, and if I'm correct they have also sat out again for their 4th time after having made finals Edited February 28, 2013 by bluecoats88
cixelsyd
We have a winner - it is the Cascades. You get to ask the next question.
bluecoats88
name the corps (and year as bonus) of the group that marched 11 bass drums for the whole show and not just small sections like last year.
