Cadets 3 ?

Recommended Posts

rayfallon, I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments. I think drum corps is full of amazing kids, much better than the "role models" presented to us in government and the media.

The very patient and engaging Cadet snare drummer is Elliott Wittstruck, a 2 year vet. He is just one of the realiy amazing persons in that line, on and off the field.

Maybe it was last season or the one before, but under quad section lead Alex Beltran, who just aged out this summer, they all went during Spring training to a nearby special ed. facility and let the kids learn about the drums with hands on. Classy guys and one reason Alex was named a Cadet of the Year.

And so many music teachers today say matched grip is more "natural" than traditional. Ha! BS.

Most of those music teachers... aren't drummers either. Matched is easier and faster to show a large group of 5th graders anxious to just hit the darn drum :)

OP, thanks for posting this.

It's great to see something positive amidst too many negatives today. Thanks again.

And some of us may know people whose vocabulary has never progressed from there.:tongue:/>

and as he lifts his spoon before taking his first mouthful of cereal in the morning you hear "Dut dut dut dut..."

And way too loud...
