Would you have the time to share a brief recap of what each of these Top 12 and 12th place productions were?

Surveys are awesome, but my memory on this topic is near zilch.

I voted Cross en 2012. I thought it should have placed higher, but my nostalgic favorite was the return of Troopers in 2009.

some of this might help

Michael Boo Recaps & some mid=season big show scoring

2013 Blue Stars ranged from 9th in Visual Proficiency to 14th in Musical Analysis. Color Guard and Percussion was 10th, Brass 13th and both Effect captions and Visual Analysis finished 12th . [DCI Southeastern] Blue Stars taking the field to set up for "Voodoo: I Put a Spell on You." It's about a lady who discovers the man she loves is attracted to another, and goes to unusual methods of getting him back.

2012 Crossmen added 2.10 to its score in Atlanta and placed in the top 12 in four captions, up from two last weekend. Visual Analysis and Color Guard took 11th, the former tying with Spirit of Atlanta. Visual Proficiency and Music Analysis placed 12th. Both Effect captions and Brass finished 13th and Percussion 14th. [DCI Eastern] Crossmen’s show is titled, “Fragile.” Selections include “Earth Song” by Michael Jackson, “Wailers” by Bobby McFerrin, “PD7” by Anoushka Shanker, “Here Comes the Flood” by Peter Gabriel and “Finding and Believing” by Pat Metheny.

2011 Spirit of Atlanta took 12th in all three Visual captions and Brass, 13th in Music Ensemble, 15th in both GE captions and 16th in Percussion, 0.5 down to Troopers. [DCI Minnesota] How good was it to hear Brandt announce Spirit of Atlanta in tonight's DCI finals' lineup. This is the first time Spirit of Atlanta has made the DCI finals since 1990. Of course, they made it five times as Spirit of Jacksonville State University. "ATL Confidential: A Tribute to Film Noir." There are five main things all Film Noir based on; a femme fatale, a hero (often a detective), a chase of some sort, a nightclub, and it always ends with a question mark, often not resolved. The films don’t always go the way we want them to go. Show ends with lots of angst and anger as the films do. The corps did a magnificent job of bringing all these elements to life.

2010 Glassmen with Percussion in 9th and Brass in 14th. Other than that Brass placement and 13th in Visual Performance, all other captions were 11th or 12th [DCI Semis] Hawk said the corps’ program was designed to sound better within the booming walls of the stadium. “[The Prayer Cycle] is a very different show for us conceptually. Orchestration-wise, I think it’s a thinner, more feature-esque opener because of Lucas Oil,” Hawk said. “So I think the show is better designed around the stadium, looking toward Finals

2009 Troopers Judging by the enthusiastic reception the corps received just by walking out on the field, a lot of fans were hoping to witness history today by seeing the Troopers break into the top 12 for the first time since 1986.
The corps’ 2009 production “Western Side Story” is charming in how it melds together music we would expect from the more traditional element of the corps with melodies as diverse as “Cave” and “West Side Story.” Part of the pleasing nature of the combination is in the surprise at how everything blends so naturally. And after the beauty of “One Hand, One Heart,” the clarion trumpet fanfare seemed to rip apart that heart to the loud approval of the audience.

2008 Madison “La Noche de la Iguana” plays off the corps’ success with Latin music in past years. This is music one might hear wafting out of a Latin nightclub at night while waiting for a rendezvous with a secret agent. While it plays with subtleties, the fire and intense audacity of this show reminds us of the searing hot Madison corps of the past … and likely the future as well.

2007 Spirit of JSU “Genesis” peeks at the corps’ rebirth as it faces the future with a new style and altered identity that is fresh and updated, as exemplified by the clean look of the new uniforms that are futuristic while harkening back to the delta design of the corps’ birth.

Divided into the segments, “Creation,” “Controversy” and “Conflict,” the show passes through the driving Oriental sensitivity of Jun Nagao’s “Fluttering Maple Leaves,” into the evocative strains of Imogen Heap’s murmuring “Hide and Seek” and smashing into the valiant soaring disposition of David Gillingham’s “New Century Dawn,” speaking to the genesis of a new day and entertaining corps productions yet to come.

2006 Spirit of JSU has maintained a healthy spread of almost two points over Colts heading into the all-important cut-off for Saturday’s competition. 2006 production entitled, “Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue.”
“Old Man River.” “That Old Black Magic.” Music from the soundtrack of “The Notebook” “The Waltz of the Mushroom Hunters.” “Blues in the Night,” and Frank Ticheli’s wind score of “Blue Shades.

2005 Spirit of JSU The Spirit of Broadway Give My Regards to Broadway (from Yankee Doodle Dandy) New York, New York (from On the Town) On Broadway, They’re Playing Our Song , Entre Act (from Sweeney Todd)
Not While I’m Around (from Sweeney Todd) Pie Jesu (from Requiem) Luck Be A Lady (from Guys and Dolls)
No One Mourns the Wicked (from Wicked) Defying Gravity (from Wicked)

2004 Glassmen Show was called Vice of One. Prologue * Diversions - Serenade for Orchestra * The Saint (from Seraphic Dialogues) * The Cave * Finale for Martha

2003 Spirit of JSU Also in 2003, Spirit from JSU moved up from 14th in the Quarterfinals competition to 12th in Semifinals, putting the corps in the World Championship Finals for just the second time since 1990. “Time” was the title and theme of the show. A single chime rang out seven times and the horns came in with brief hints of “Auld Lang Syne” and Cyndi Laupner’s “Time After Time” from her 1984 album, “She’s So Unusual.” These time-related snippets led into John Barry’s “Somewhere in Time. “Whirr, Whirr, Whirr!!!” provided the musical backdrop for the movement titled, “Vertical Momentum.” “A Look Back in Time,” October” by composer Eric Whitacre, “Danny Boy” “Let It Be Me.

2002 Cascades City Riffs, Music of Leonard Bernstein. This was a show where everything seemed to work as planned. The music was playable by the rapidly ascending corps and Myron Rosander’s drill formations seemed perfectly coordinated with the music. “On the Town, “Profanation” “Simple Song” from “Mass” “Prelude, Fugue and Riffs” “Make Our Garden Grow” from “Candide

2001 Colts Chivalry. Sinfonia Voci, Allemande (from Courtly Airs and Dances) Nobis Domine (from Henry V)Battle Scene, Once More Unto the Breach. Colts made it back into Finals after a year off by capturing 12th place with an 85.95, helped by a 9th place Percussion Music score

2000 Bluecoats Threshold. Intro, And on the Sixth Day & The Witch, Air Antique, Finale.

Thank you for the recaps! Though my heart wants to vote for the Troopers for making it into finals, I especially liked Spirit's Film Noir program. Their opening sequence of the projector was very imaginative in its layout and sound.

And at Finals that year, the Spirit souvie stand was selling the front sideline movie boards at intermission.
