The crowd erupted so loudly that the music fell apart by the end of it. Whatever was gained in GE was probably lost in execution. A great moment in drum corps lore though! jordsterr Posted August 6, 2014 Share Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) I think you need to have all the pieces locked in by now. Two examples come to mind - Vanguard '82, when they added "Bottle Dance" and it didn't work out so well, and '85 Garfield when they changed the way the DM conducted the intro to "Candide" and the corps almost fell apart. These cams to mind for me as well. The other one though is Phantom killing the DM in 2008. I didn't see it until prelims. Very effective and I believe the final "hype" they needed to push them over. A great moment in drum corps lore though!The timing judge had already fired twice to stop the judged portion of the show, unless the judges up top were still working.
